About CoonerangCoonerang is an independent educational company operating two centres in Arroyomolinos, Madrid.Our programmes combine practical English, communication, storytelling, problem-solving, teamwork and Cambridge exam preparation.We are currently professionalising our academic system, developing new materials and strengthening our assessment, student progress and teacher development processes.The OpportunityWe are looking for a Cambridge Lead & Senior English Teacher to oversee the academic and technical quality of our Cambridge English Qualification programmes.The successful candidate will combine teaching with responsibility for the Cambridge area. They will monitor student progress, ensure high-quality exam preparation, support and train teachers, and make sure that our methodology, materials and assessments are aligned with the requirements of each exam.We are looking for an experienced Cambridge teacher with excellent classroom skills and the ability to become the academy’s main technical reference for Cambridge preparation.Main Responsibilities:Cambridge ProgrammesOversee our Cambridge exam-preparation programmes.Ensure that course content, materials and assessments are aligned with the requirements of each exam.Establish clear objectives and expectations across the different levels.Remain up to date with changes to Cambridge exam formats and assessment criteria.Recommend improvements to the methodology and organisation of our programmes.Student Progress and AssessmentMonitor the progress of students preparing for Cambridge examinations.Coordinate assessments and mock examinations.Analyse results and identify students or groups requiring additional support.Recommend appropriate intervention and improvement measures.Assess students’ readiness before recommending entry for an official examination.Teacher Training and SupportTrain teachers in Cambridge exam formats, strategies and assessment criteria.Provide resources, models and examples of best practice.Review lesson plans, materials and assessments.Observe and support teachers delivering Cambridge preparation classes.Help maintain consistent academic standards across teachers and groups.TeachingTeach general English and Cambridge exam-preparation classes.Take responsibility for groups requiring a high level of experience and technical expertise.Deliver dynamic, structured lessons adapted to students’ needs.Serve as a model of effective teaching practice within the team.Contribute to the development and testing of new materials and activities.Candidate ProfileThe successful candidate should demonstrate:Significant experience in English-language teaching.Strong experience preparing students for Cambridge examinations.In-depth knowledge of B2 First and, preferably, C1 Advanced.A thorough understanding of the assessment criteria for Writing and Speaking.Experience training, mentoring or supporting other teachers.The ability to analyse results and make sound academic decisions.Excellent teaching and classroom-management skills.Strong organisation, autonomy and attention to detail.The ability to work collaboratively while maintaining high academic standards.C2 or equivalent English proficiency.A working level of Spanish.The legal right to work in Spain.The following would be particularly valuable:Experience as a Cambridge Speaking Examiner.Previous experience as a Cambridge Coordinator, Director of Studies, Academic Coordinator or Senior Teacher.A CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL, DELTA, DipTESOL or equivalent qualification.Experience coordinating mock examinations or standardisation sessions.Experience teaching children, teenagers and adults.What We OfferA stable position with real academic responsibility.A combination of teaching, academic coordination and teacher development.The opportunity to lead and develop the academy’s Cambridge programmes.Direct involvement in improving our methodology and academic provision.Autonomy to propose improvements and develop new systems.Support from the academic, coordination and leadership teams.On-site work across our two centres in Arroyomolinos, Madrid.Long-term professional development as the organisation grows.A full-time position.Compensation based on the candidate’s experience and proven capabilities.Working Hours & LocationThis is a full-time position of 36 hours per week, divided into:25 teaching hours, delivered on-site across our two centres in Arroyomolinos.11 non-teaching hours dedicated to Cambridge coordination, student progress, assessment, teacher support, materials and academic planning.The non-teaching portion of the role may be carried out under a hybrid working arrangement, depending on the tasks involved and the academy’s operational needs.
