Campus community members work collaboratively to enrich the world through their skills, vision, and artistic practice.Role Description The Campus Safety Officer is responsible for promoting a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors at Otis College of Art and Design. This full-time, on-site role is based in Los Angeles, CA and involves patrolling campus grounds and facilities, monitoring access points, and responding to safety and security incidents. Daily duties include enforcing campus policies, documenting and reporting accidents or incidents, supporting emergency response efforts, and assisting with crowd management during events. The Officer will also provide safety escorts, offer excellent customer service, and collaborate with college departments to support a culture of safety and respect.Qualifications Demonstrated skills in Health & Safety and Occupational Health to maintain a safe campus environment.Experience with Accident Investigation to accurately document incidents and support follow-up actions.Strong Security skills, including surveillance, access control, and incident response.Ability to deliver or support Safety Training for students, staff, and faculty.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to equitable and respectful engagement.Ability to remain calm under pressure, exercise sound judgment, and follow established procedures.Physical ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods and respond quickly to emergencies.Prior campus safety, law enforcement, or security experience preferred; relevant certifications or training in safety or security are a plus.
