Drone-based inspections are still new in the global maritime sector, positioning MarInn as an early innovator in this niche.Role Description The Captain role at MarInn is a full-time, on-site position based in Szczecin. The Captain will be responsible for overseeing vessel operations, ensuring safe navigation, and coordinating marine surveys and inspections in collaboration with maritime experts. Daily tasks include planning and executing voyages, supervising crew members, monitoring vessel condition and safety procedures, and supporting the use of drone technology during inspection activities. The role involves close cooperation with clients and internal teams to ensure that surveys, cargo inspections, and damage assessments are carried out accurately and efficiently. The Captain is expected to maintain high standards of safety, operational reliability, and professional conduct at all times.Qualifications Strong maritime navigation and ship handling skills, with experience in managing seagoing and/or inland vessels.Solid knowledge of maritime safety regulations, international conventions, and port operational procedures.Experience in marine surveying, cargo inspections, or related maritime expertise activities is highly beneficial.Ability to work with modern inspection technologies, including drones and digital documentation tools, or willingness to learn.Excellent communication skills for coordinating with crew, inspectors, clients, and port authorities.Proven leadership and team supervision capabilities, with a focus on safety, integrity, and professionalism.Relevant maritime certifications and licenses appropriate for a Captain role; higher maritime education is an asset.Fluency in English; knowledge of Polish or other languages used in the maritime sector is an advantage.
