Role Summary

The Cardiologist will provide comprehensive cardiovascular care within Metabolic’s integrated, multidisciplinary care model, with a particular focus on cardiovascular risk and conditions associated with diabetes, obesity, metabolic syndrome, hypertension, dyslipidaemia, and other chronic diseases.The role involves specialist cardiovascular assessment and management, preventive cardiology, patient education, and collaboration with the wider clinical team. The Cardiologist will also use digital health technology and remote monitoring to support proactive management, personalised treatment, and improved long-term cardiovascular and metabolic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care:Provide specialist-level cardiac consultations for patients with diabetes, metabolic syndrome, obesity, hypertension, dyslipidaemia, and other chronic conditions.Diagnose and manage a broad range of cardiovascular disorders using evidence-based and patient-centred approaches.Assess cardiovascular risk and develop individualised prevention and management strategies.Collaborate closely with endocrinologists, GPs, nurses, dietitians, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team to align cardiovascular management with overall metabolic health goals.Perform and interpret relevant cardiac diagnostic investigations, including ECG, echocardiography, stress testing, and Holter monitoring.Manage chronic cardiovascular conditions and optimise cardiovascular medications where appropriate.Provide preventive cardiology interventions focused on reducing cardiovascular risk and improving long-term health outcomes.Identify and appropriately manage acute cardiac presentations within the clinic setting and arrange timely referral or escalation to tertiary-level care when required.Provide appropriate follow-up and ongoing monitoring of patients with cardiovascular conditions and risk factors.Digital Health Integration:Utilise Metabolic’s digital health and patient monitoring platforms to track relevant clinical metrics, including blood pressure, heart rate, activity, and other cardiovascular and metabolic data.Review patient data and trends and incorporate relevant findings into individualised clinical management plans.Use technology and remote monitoring to support proactive identification of changes in cardiovascular risk or clinical status.Participate in teleconsultations and remote patient monitoring programmes where clinically appropriate.Engage with new digital health technologies and clinical tools that support cardiovascular care and patient outcomes.Multidisciplinary Collaboration & Quality ImprovementWork collaboratively with physicians, nurses, dietitians, health coaches, physiotherapists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.Participate in multidisciplinary clinical meetings, case discussions, and patient reviews.Contribute specialist cardiology expertise to integrated care pathways and clinical protocols.Support continuous quality improvement, clinical audits, service development, and professional education activities.Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation and ensure appropriate communication with the wider care team.Contribute to the development and improvement of Metabolic’s cardiovascular and integrated chronic disease services.Patient Education & AdvocacyEducate patients on cardiovascular disease prevention, risk-factor management, lifestyle modification, and medication adherence.Explain diagnoses, investigations, treatment options, and recommendations clearly and sensitively.Support patients in understanding and actively managing their cardiovascular and metabolic health.Promote patient engagement, shared decision-making, and adherence to agreed treatment plans.Provide ongoing communication and follow-up to support long-term health outcomes.Clinical Governance & Infection ControlPractice in accordance with applicable UAE healthcare regulations, DHA requirements, and Metabolic clinical policies and procedures.Maintain high standards of clinical care, patient safety, confidentiality, and professional conduct.Participate in clinical governance, audit, quality improvement, and continuing professional development activities.Ensure appropriate escalation and referral of patients where clinical needs exceed the services available within the clinic.Understand, follow, and support all infection prevention and control programmes and procedures.Qualifications & Experience:Active DHA license as a Cardiologist (Specialist and/or Consultant)MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognised institution.Board Certification or equivalent specialist qualification in Cardiology.Minimum 5 years of post-qualification clinical experience in cardiology.Experience in cardiovascular risk assessment, prevention, and chronic disease management.Experience managing patients with diabetes, obesity, metabolic syndrome, hypertension, or dyslipidaemia is preferred.Experience working within a multidisciplinary clinical environment.Experience performing and/or interpreting cardiovascular diagnostic investigations, including ECG, echocardiography, stress testing, and HolterArabic language - a bonus
