Learners are supported to achieve knowledge, skills, and understanding above curriculum and international standards in an inclusive and caring environment.Role Description The Career Counselor is a full-time, on-site role based at Ignite School in Dubai. This role involves providing individual and group counseling to students on academic pathways, career options, and post-secondary planning. The Career Counselor collaborates with teachers, administrators, and families to design and deliver career guidance programs, workshops, and information sessions that support students’ personal, academic, and career development. Typical responsibilities include administering and interpreting career assessments, maintaining up-to-date resources on universities, vocational programs, and employment trends, and guiding students through applications, interviews, and transition planning. The role also includes tracking student progress, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to whole-school initiatives that promote student well-being and readiness for life beyond school.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in Career Counseling, with experience guiding students through education and employment pathways.Candidates should demonstrate expertise in Career Development and Career Management, including goal setting, planning, and decision-making support.Candidates should have solid Student Counseling skills, with the ability to support diverse learners and address personal, academic, and social-emotional needs.Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including active listening, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and colleagues.Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree in counseling, psychology, education, or a related field; professional counseling certification or licensure is an advantage.Experience working in school settings, preferably within international or American curriculum schools, and familiarity with university admissions processes.Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practice, with the ability to support students from diverse backgrounds.Strong organizational and record-keeping skills, proficiency with digital tools, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic school
