The Academic Counsellor will meet with students regularly to understand their academic goals, challenges, and interests, and provide individualized academic advising and career counseling. Responsibilities include guiding students on course selection, study plans, and skill development, as well as helping them explore career options and educational pathways. The role involves conducting one-on-one and group counseling sessions, maintaining accurate records of student interactions, and coordinating with faculty and administration to support student progress. The Academic Counsellor will also participate in workshops, orientations, and outreach activities to promote student engagement and success.QualificationsStrong student counseling and academic advising skills, with the ability to support learners from diverse backgrounds.Effective communication skills, including active listening, clear spoken and written communication, and rapport building.Career counseling and guidance skills to help students explore and plan suitable educational and professional pathways.Solid understanding of education systems, curricula, and assessment methods, preferably in school or higher education settings.Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field; advanced qualifications or certifications in counseling are an advantage.Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain professional ethics and confidentiality.Organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple students, sessions, and administrative tasks effectively.Prior experience in academic or career counseling, student support services, or educational administration is beneficial.
