Cashier

Role Description This full-time, on-site Cashier role at 13BSMAT - 13e base du soutien du Matériel is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Cashier is responsible for accurately processing customer transactions, including cash, card, and electronic payments, issuing receipts, and maintaining the cash drawer with proper balances at the beginning and end of each shift. Day-to-day tasks include greeting customers, answering basic product or service questions, resolving payment issues, and ensuring a smooth checkout experience. The role also involves following established procedures for returns and refunds, verifying prices and discounts, and coordinating with supervisors on any discrepancies. The Cashier helps maintain a clean and orderly checkout area, adheres to internal financial controls and security guidelines, and supports general administrative or support tasks as needed.Qualifications Strong cash-handling abilities and numerical accuracy, with attention to detail when processing payments and balancing the cash drawer.Customer service skills, including clear communication, patience, and a professional, courteous approach to interacting with diverse customers.Basic computer and point-of-sale (POS) system proficiency, including handling electronic payment systems and simple data entry.Ability to follow procedures, apply company policies to transactions, and maintain confidentiality of financial and customer information.Reliable, punctual, and able to work full-time on-site in Dubai, with flexibility for shifts, weekends, or holidays as operationally required.Previous experience in a cashier, retail, hospitality, or front-desk role is beneficial.High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in customer service, accounting basics, or retail operations is an advantage.Ability to stand for extended periods and manage a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and composure.
