The Cashier is responsible for accurately processing customer transactions, handling cash, cards, and other payment methods, and issuing receipts. This role includes greeting customers, answering basic product or store questions, and directing customers to appropriate team members for additional assistance. Daily tasks also involve maintaining a clean and organized checkout area, restocking impulse items near the registers, and following all store policies and procedures. The Cashier works closely with the store team to ensure a positive customer experience and efficient front-end operations.Qualifications Strong cash-handling, basic math, and point-of-sale (POS) operation skills.Customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a diverse customer base.Attention to detail, reliability, and ability to follow procedures for transactions and store policies.Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move light merchandise, and work in a busy retail environment.Previous retail or cashier experience preferred, especially in hardware or building materials.High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant experience.Willingness to work a consistent full-time schedule, including weekends or evenings as needed.
