Team members are encouraged to uphold high service standards while contributing to memorable experiences for members and guests.Role Description The Catering Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based at Grosse Pointe Yacht Club in Grosse Pointe, MI. This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of catered events, including member inquiries, proposal preparation, and event detailing. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing event bookings, communicating with members and internal departments, confirming menus and room layouts, and ensuring accurate event orders. The Catering Coordinator collaborates closely with the food and beverage, culinary, and operations teams to support seamless execution of events. The role also includes maintaining updated event records, following up on post-event feedback, and supporting catering sales efforts to enhance member satisfaction and event revenue.Qualifications Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to interact effectively with members, guests, and team members.Customer Service and Catering Sales skills to manage inquiries, build relationships, and support event revenue growth.Experience with Food Service and event coordination to understand menus, service styles, and banquet logistics.Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple events, priorities, and deadlines.Attention to detail in preparing event orders, contracts, and room setups, with basic proficiency in office software.Previous experience in hospitality, catering, or club/restaurant environments is preferred.Ability to work on-site with flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by events.
