We combine cutting-edge AI with deep local market knowledge to help users navigate save & invest products and financial goal planning. We are growing quickly, and the number of things that need doing well is outpacing the number of people to do them. We are looking for an analyst to sit in the CEO’s office and take on the problems that matter most at any given moment — with real ownership from the start.Role DescriptionThis role reports directly to the CEO and works closely with the core team and management across the business. It is a generalist seat: your remit is set by what the company most needs at a given moment rather than by function. Over a typical quarter that might mean partnership development, a regulatory workstream, commercial modelling, board material, competitor research, a live client pursuit, and a fund evaluation — often in the same week.Investment fluency matters here and is a strong preference. We want someone who can hold their own on fund selection, portfolio logic, and investment risk, because those conversations run through the CEO’s office constantly. But this is not a seat where you will spend most of your time in a model. We are looking for someone with roughly 3–5 years of experience in a demanding analytical role. What matters as much as the technical background is judgement, range, and the willingness to pick up an unfamiliar problem and make progress on it.This is a hands-on role where taking initiative is rewarded. If you want a defined lane and a stable remit, this is not it. If you want unusual proximity to how a licensed fintech actually gets built, it is.Key ResponsibilitiesPartnerships, Client Development & Distribution• Identify and approach prospective distribution partners, corporate clients, and larger individual investors, and take those conversations from first contact through to mandate• Support partnership development end to end: sourcing, commercial structuring, onboarding, and keeping live partnerships moving once signed• Build and maintain your own pipeline of relationships across employers, associations, professional bodies, and intermediaries, with a view to bringing AUM onto the platform• Lead on corporate and institutional mandates: due diligence questionnaires, RFPs, tailored allocation proposals, and bespoke analysis during live pursuits• Prepare fund selection rationale, comparative performance materials, and product collateral used across client and partner conversations, including those run by colleagues• Represent Cashku at industry events, partner briefings, and investor sessions — and follow up on what comes out of themResearch & Market Intelligence• Monitor developments in Malaysian fintech regulation (SC, BNM), alternative credit markets, and emerging investment themes relevant to our product direction• Provide ad-hoc research support on industries, competitors, and market dynamics to inform deal sourcing and business decisionsStakeholder Coordination• Liaise with fund managers, technology partners, regulators, and internal teams to gather data, resolve discrepancies, and keep workstreams moving• Prepare materials for management reviews, investor meetings, and board-level updates• Work alongside the core team and management to unblock things that are stalling, regardless of whose remit they formally sit inSpecial Projects & Ad-Hoc Work• Take on whatever the CEO’s office needs at a given moment — fundraising support, licensing and regulatory coordination, commercial modelling, internal process design, one-off analysis for the board• Own projects that do not yet belong to anyone: scope them, run them, and hand them over once they are stableInvestment Analysis & Portfolio Work• Perform return modelling, risk assessment, and comparative analysis across the Malaysian fund universe to identify optimal fund allocations• Prepare investment memos, deal summaries, and supporting materials for internal review and stakeholder presentations• Assist in evaluating new investment opportunities across alternative credit and emerging fintech-adjacent asset classes• Maintain a structured view of active investments and portfolio performance, tracking key dates, fund NAVs, distribution schedules, and rebalancing triggers• Prepare clear, concise performance updates and variance analyses for internal and external stakeholdersAI Platform Oversight• Support the development of governance frameworks and oversight processes for our AI-driven portfolio management tools• Stress-test investment assumptions, identify edge cases, and flag areas where system outputs require human review or recalibration• Act as a bridge between the investment and technology teams — translating investment logic and risk parameters into clear operational requirementsRequired Experience and Skills• Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field• Around 3–5 years in a demanding analytical role — investment analysis, consulting, corporate finance, banking, strategy, or a comparable seat at a fast-moving company• Able to switch context without losing quality, and to work productively when a brief is ambiguous, unfamiliar, or incomplete• Strong written communication — you will produce memos, board material, and partner-facing documents, often with limited direction• Comfortable initiating and carrying commercial conversations: approaching prospective partners and clients directly, and holding your own once in the room• Solid grasp of financial modelling, comfortable building and working through models in Excel independently• Comfortable engaging critically with AI and data-driven tools from an investment and risk perspective — you do not need to write code, but you should think carefully about outputs• Organised, reliable, and proactive; able to manage multiple workstreams and take ownership of your deliverables• High integrity and discretion; you will have access to sensitive deal, portfolio, and company informationStrongly Preferred• A working grounding in investments — equity research, fund analysis, portfolio management, or similar — sufficient to engage credibly on fund selection and investment risk• Familiarity with the Malaysian unit trust landscape, fund distribution ecosystem, and key fund housesAdvantageous• CFA qualification or progress toward CFA; SC Licensing (Module 9 and/or Module 10)• An existing network across Malaysian corporates, intermediaries, or the fund distribution ecosystem• Exposure to regulated financial services, fundraising, or company-building at an early-stage business• Willingness to obtain FIMM registration within six months of joining, if required for the roleWhy Join Us• Direct line to the CEO and a seat close to how decisions actually get made at a licensed, rapidly scaling fintech• Breadth that is difficult to find elsewhere at this stage of a career: commercial ownership, regulatory exposure, investment work, and company-building in the same role• Lean team structure means your contributions are visible and your growth is fast• Genuine ownership of the client and partner relationships you originate, alongside the investment work — not a handoff to someone else’s book
