Joining the team offers opportunities to work directly with patients and contribute to the health of the local community.Role Description The Certified Medical Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based at Family Medical Center Of Hastings in Hastings, NE. This role involves supporting providers with direct patient care, including rooming patients, taking vital signs, documenting histories, and preparing patients for examinations and procedures. Daily responsibilities include assisting with minor procedures, administering injections and medications as directed, performing basic laboratory tests, and maintaining exam rooms and medical supplies. The Certified Medical Assistant also manages medical records and documentation in the electronic health record, schedules appointments, processes referrals, and supports general medical office workflows. The role requires consistent collaboration with clinicians and administrative staff to promote efficient, safe, and high-quality patient care.Qualifications Demonstrated skills in Medical Assisting, including supporting examinations, procedures, and basic clinical tasks.Strong knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately communicate and document clinical information.Experience working in a Medical Office setting, including scheduling, patient flow coordination, and front/back office support.Proficiency in Patient Care activities such as vital signs collection, patient education, and assisting with routine treatments.Ability to manage Medical Records accurately, including electronic health record documentation and record maintenance.Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on empathy, confidentiality, and patient safety.Organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy clinical environment.Previous experience in a primary care or family medicine setting is preferred but not required.
