This role is responsible for supporting clinicians with direct patient care, including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, recording medical histories, and preparing patients for examinations and procedures. Daily tasks include managing medical records, updating electronic health records, assisting with scheduling and follow-up, and performing routine clinical duties such as administering injections, collecting specimens, and performing basic tests as permitted by certification and state regulations. The role also involves maintaining exam rooms, ensuring supplies are stocked, supporting infection control practices, and facilitating clear communication between patients, providers, and the front office. The Certified Medical Assistant contributes to a respectful, patient-centered environment and collaborates closely with the healthcare team to ensure efficient and safe care delivery.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong Medical Assisting skills, including clinical support, vital sign measurement, and preparation for examinations.Candidates should possess knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately document and communicate patient information.Candidates should possess Medical Office skills, including appointment coordination, basic administrative tasks, and collaboration with front-desk staff.Candidates should possess Patient Care skills focused on compassionate, culturally sensitive, and safe interaction with individuals and families.Candidates should possess Medical Records skills, including maintaining, updating, and protecting patient information in electronic health record systems.Current certification as a Medical Assistant (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA) and compliance with state requirements.Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and adherence to privacy and safety regulations.Experience in a family practice or primary care setting is beneficial but not required.
