Working at Allskin Dermatology provides exposure to a range of skin conditions and modern practice workflows in an established community setting.Role Description The Certified Medical Assistant will work full time on-site at Allskin Dermatology’s Berkeley, CA location, supporting dermatology providers and patients throughout the clinical visit. Daily responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining and documenting medical histories, vital signs, and current medications, and preparing exam rooms and instruments for procedures. The role involves assisting with dermatologic procedures, applying and removing dressings, processing lab orders, and ensuring accurate, timely documentation in medical records. The Medical Assistant will help manage patient flow, schedule follow-up appointments, verify insurance information, and coordinate referrals as needed. Additional duties include maintaining clinical supplies, adhering to infection control protocols, and providing clear, respectful communication to support patient understanding and comfort.Qualifications Demonstrated skills in Medical Assisting, including patient intake, vital signs, and support during dermatologic procedures.Knowledge of Medical Terminology relevant to dermatology and general outpatient care.Experience working in a Medical Office setting, including coordination with front desk and clinical staff.Strong Patient Care skills, with a focus on empathy, confidentiality, and culturally sensitive communication.Ability to manage and document Medical Records accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems.Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) and CPR/BLS certification preferred.Prior experience in dermatology or outpatient specialty care is beneficial but not required.Strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
