The successful candidate will transform character concepts and personality frameworks into detailed behavioral systems that make synthetic characters feel consistent, believable, responsive and engaging. This is a cross-disciplinary role combining behavioral design, psychology, storytelling, interaction design and artificial intelligence. You will work closely with AI developers, character designers, writers, performance specialists and interaction teams to create behavioral frameworks that guide how characters respond to users, events, emotions, relationships and changing circumstances.ResponsibilitiesDesign behavioral frameworks for AI characters, digital humans and interactive virtual personas.Define how characters respond to different social, emotional, environmental and conversational situations.Translate character personalities, motivations and backstories into observable behaviors and interaction patterns.Design decision-making logic that determines how characters choose between different responses or actions.Define behavioral rules, tendencies, boundaries and response priorities for individual characters.Develop emotional response systems that determine how characters react to positive, negative, unexpected or stressful situations.Design relationship behaviors, including trust, familiarity, cooperation, disagreement, conflict and emotional distance.Create behavioral patterns for different interaction contexts, audiences and environments.Define how characters adapt their behavior while maintaining a recognizable and consistent identity.Develop scenarios and behavioral test cases to evaluate character responses across a wide range of situations.Work with writers and dialogue designers to ensure that dialogue and actions are consistent with the intended character behavior.Collaborate with AI engineers to translate behavioral frameworks into prompts, system instructions, agent policies, decision logic or other AI implementation structures.Review AI-generated interactions and identify behavioral inconsistencies, unnatural reactions, repetitive patterns or character drift.Design edge cases and challenging scenarios to test the robustness of character behavior.Develop behavioral documentation, decision trees, interaction guidelines and character response specifications.Support motion, voice, animation and performance teams by defining behavioral intentions behind physical and verbal actions.Analyze user interactions and feedback to improve character responsiveness, credibility and engagement.Research emerging approaches in behavioral AI, autonomous agents, digital humans, interactive characters and synthetic media.QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Behavioral Science, Interaction Design, Game Design, Performing Arts, Creative Writing, Human-Computer Interaction, Artificial Intelligence, Communication or a related field. At least 3–5 years of experience in behavioral design, character development, game design, interactive media, conversational AI, digital humans, animation, performance design or a related field.Strong understanding of human behavior, emotional responses, social interaction and decision-making.Demonstrable experience designing believable behaviors for fictional, digital or interactive characters.Strong understanding of how personality, motivation, emotion and context influence observable behavior.Ability to create structured behavioral systems rather than relying only on narrative descriptions.Experience developing scenarios, decision trees, behavioral rules or interaction frameworks.Understanding of generative AI, conversational AI, large language models or AI-powered character systems.Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and translate creative behavioral concepts into implementable specifications.Strong analytical and observational skills with the ability to identify subtle behavioral inconsistencies.Experience designing character behavior across multiple emotional states and interaction contexts.Understanding of dialogue, body language, facial expression, gesture or performance is highly desirable.Strong communication, documentation and problem-solving skills.Ability to balance believable behavior with technical constraints, user experience requirements and character consistency.Fluency in English; additional languages are an asset.Portfolio demonstrating character behavior design, interactive characters, game characters, digital humans, conversational experiences, behavioral systems or related work is strongly preferred. What We OfferThe opportunity to define the behavior of next-generation AI characters and digital humans.A multidisciplinary environment bringing together AI engineers, character designers, writers, performers, animators and interaction specialists. The opportunity to design behavioral systems that directly influence how synthetic characters interact with people.Access to emerging AI, digital human, conversational and interactive character technologies.Creative ownership over character behavior, interaction logic and response design.Opportunities to contribute to entertainment, education, cultural, immersive and interactive technology projects.Professional development opportunities in behavioral AI, synthetic characters and interactive experiences.A collaborative environment where psychology, storytelling, performance and artificial intelligence intersect. How to ApplyPlease submit the following to farhang@parsikia.ir with subject line “Character Behavior Designer — AI & Digital Characters”:1. CV (max 2 pages)2. Cover letter (1 page) describing your relevant experience and why you are interested in designing behavior for AI and digital characters.3. Portfolio or links to 3 relevant projects demonstrating character behavior design, interactive characters, game design, digital humans, conversational AI, behavioral systems or related work.4. Two references (name, role, contact)Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview and may be asked to develop a short behavioral framework for a synthetic character, including behavioral rules, emotional responses, decision-making patterns and sample interaction scenarios. We welcome applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds, including psychology, behavioral science, performing arts, game development, AI, interaction design, animation, creative writing and digital media. Cross-disciplinary practitioners who combine creative thinking with behavioral and technical understanding are especially encouraged to apply.
