Applicants can expect a purpose-driven environment focused on supporting both patients and employees.Role Description The Charge Nurse is a full-time, on-site role based in Phoenix, AZ, responsible for overseeing nursing activities and patient care on an assigned unit during each shift. This role coordinates staff assignments, ensures appropriate staffing levels, and supports the nursing team in delivering safe, evidence-based care. The Charge Nurse monitors patient status, assists with complex clinical situations, and serves as a resource for clinical decision-making and problem resolution. Daily responsibilities include facilitating communication among physicians, nurses, and other care team members, promoting adherence to policies and regulatory standards, and supporting quality improvement initiatives. The Charge Nurse also participates in staff mentoring, provides leadership in emergency situations, and contributes to a positive, patient-centered environment.QualificationsClinical leadership skills, including experience coordinating unit workflow, overseeing patient assignments, and supporting nursing staff.Strong patient care and clinical expertise in acute care or relevant specialty, with the ability to manage complex and high-acuity cases.Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families.Competence in critical thinking, prioritization, and decision-making in fast-paced, changing clinical environments.Knowledge of nursing best practices, hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Arizona (or eligibility to obtain), and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred where applicable.Previous experience in a charge, lead, or supervisory nursing role is strongly preferred.Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred, with commitment to ongoing professional development.Ability to work on-site full time in Phoenix, AZ, including variable shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
