Chartering Manager (Break Bulk & Project Cargoes)

Location: Dubai, UAE Company: AVS Shipbrokers LLCAbout the RoleAVS Shipbrokers LLC is seeking an experienced Chartering Manager to develop and expand our Break Bulk and Project Cargo business between Asia, the Far East, India, the Middle East, Africa, and the Mediterranean.The successful candidate must possess an established network of cargo interests, freight forwarders, project logistics companies, EPC contractors, traders, and/or shipowners operating in the break bulk and project cargo market. The role requires a commercially driven professional capable of originating cargo opportunities, securing vessel employment, and building long-term client relationships.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and manage Break Bulk and Project Cargo business across Asia and Mediterranean trade lanes.Generate cargo opportunities through direct contact with cargo owners, project logistics providers, EPC contractors, traders, and charterers.Source and negotiate suitable tonnage with shipowners and operators.Manage voyage and time charter negotiations from inception to fixture.Build and maintain strong relationships with cargo interests and vessel owners.Identify market opportunities and contribute to business development strategy.Prepare freight quotations, voyage estimates, market reports, and fixture documentation.Work closely with post-fixture and operations teams to ensure smooth execution of voyages.Achieve agreed commercial targets and profitability objectives.Candidate RequirementsMandatoryMinimum 3 years of proven experience in shipbroking, chartering, or commercial shipping.Demonstrated experience in Break Bulk and Project Cargoes.Established and verifiable network of:Cargo Owners;Freight Forwarders;Project Logistics Companies;EPC Contractors; and/orShipowners and Operators.Strong understanding of charter parties, freight negotiations, and vessel operations.Fluent written and spoken English.Excellent commercial, negotiation, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and deliver measurable business results.PreferredExperience in heavy lift, steel products, industrial equipment, infrastructure projects, energy, or mining cargoes.Existing customer portfolio generating regular cargo enquiries.Additional language skills are considered an advantage.CompensationAttractive fixed salary.Competitive performance-based commission structure.Significant growth opportunities within a rapidly expanding shipbroking company.IMPORTANT APPLICATION REQUIREMENTSApplications without the required Cover Letter will NOT be considered.Your Cover Letter MUST include:Companies you worked for (with employment dates).Duration of employment with each company.Markets and cargoes handled.Your personal commercial achievements with measurable results, including:Number of fixtures concluded.Freight revenue generated.Annual commission generated.Number of active clients developed.Volume of cargo fixed (MT/year).Vessel days or fleet managed.Description of your current network of:Cargo Owners;Freight Forwarders;Project Logistics Companies;Shipowners/Operators.Reason for applying.Example of the Expected FormatCompany: ABC Shipping Pte LtdPeriod: Jan 2022 – Dec 2025Position: Chartering ManagerResults:46 fixtures concluded annuallyUSD 1.8 million freight revenue generated12 active cargo-owning clients developed350,000 MT annual project cargo volumeOnly candidates providing specific, verifiable business achievements and quantified results will be shortlisted for interview.
