Chartering Manager

About the CompanyOur client is a growing dry bulk operating business seeking an experienced Chartering Manager to support and develop its commercial activity from Dubai.About the RoleThe Chartering Manager will be responsible for identifying suitable cargo and tonnage opportunities, assessing voyage economics, negotiating commercially sound fixtures and developing long-term market relationships across the Handysize and Supramax segments. The successful candidate will have meaningful autonomy and the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of the company’s chartering activity.ResponsibilitiesFix dry bulk cargoes and tonnage across the Handysize and Supramax segments.Identify commercially realistic cargo and vessel opportunities.Develop sustainable relationships with owners, operators, traders, charterers and brokers.Prepare accurate voyage estimations and evaluate expected margins.Negotiate charter parties with commercial clarity and attention to risk.Monitor market conditions, freight movements and relevant cargo flows.Coordinate closely with operations to ensure clean post-fixture execution.Manage complex voyages and multiple stakeholders when required.Maintain disciplined commercial records and structured follow-up.Represent the business professionally across the international dry bulk market.QualificationsApproximately 5–10 years of relevant dry bulk chartering experience.Strong exposure to Handysize and Supramax vessels.Previous experience with a shipowner or operator is strongly preferred.Candidates from a broking background must demonstrate direct commercial and voyage-evaluation responsibility.Sound understanding of dry bulk cargo flows, freight markets and charter-party terms.Proven ability to evaluate voyages and make independent commercial recommendations.An established network across owners, operators, traders, charterers and brokers.
