Dry Bulk Chartering Manager / Chartering BrokerLocation: Dubai, UAECompany: AVS Shipbrokers LLCAbout AVS ShipbrokersAVS Shipbrokers LLC is an independent shipbroking and commercial shipping company based in Dubai.We are actively expanding our Dry Bulk division and are looking for an experienced Chartering Manager capable of generating new business, developing long-term client relationships, negotiating profitable fixtures, and contributing directly to the commercial growth of the company.This is a front-office commercial role with clear responsibility for revenue generation and business development.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain relationships with charterers, traders, cargo owners, shipowners, operators, freight forwarders and brokers.Originate cargo and vessel opportunities within Dry Bulk markets.Negotiate voyage charters, time charters and Contracts of Affreightment (COAs).Manage the fixture process from initial inquiry through recap and handover.Prepare freight ideas, voyage calculations and commercial proposals.Monitor market developments and identify profitable trading opportunities.Maintain accurate CRM records and commercial pipeline visibility.Coordinate closely with Post-Fixing and Operations teams to ensure efficient voyage execution.Support business development initiatives and expansion into new markets.Achieve agreed commercial and financial targets.Candidate ProfileMandatory RequirementsMinimum 5 years of experience in Dry Bulk Chartering, Shipbroking or Commercial Shipping.Demonstrated track record of business development and fixture generation.Established network among charterers, traders, cargo owners, shipowners or operators.Strong understanding of:Voyage ChartersTime ChartersCOAsCharter PartiesLaytime & DemurrageVessel OperationsFreight Market DynamicsFluent written and spoken English.Strong negotiation, communication and commercial skills.Ability to work independently and deliver measurable business results.Preferred ExperienceExperience handling one or more of the following cargo sectors:GrainsCoalFertilizersSteel ProductsOres and MineralsForest ProductsCement and ClinkerProject CargoesExperience in Middle East, India, Far East, Africa or Mediterranean trades is considered a strong advantage.Existing customer relationships generating regular business opportunities are highly desirable.CompensationCompetitive fixed salary.Uncapped performance-based commission structure.Quarterly incentive programme linked to commercial performance.Long-term career growth opportunities within a growing international shipping business.Application RequirementsApplications without a Cover Letter will not be considered.Your Cover Letter Must IncludeEmployment HistoryFor each employer:Company NamePosition HeldEmployment DatesCommercial ExperienceCargoes handledVessel types handledGeographic markets coveredTrade routes coveredMeasurable AchievementsPlease provide actual figures where possible:Number of fixtures concluded annuallyGross brokerage generated annuallyNumber of active clients developedCargo volumes fixed (MT per year)Vessel days or fleet managedCommercial operating results achievedProfessional NetworkPlease describe your current network among:CharterersCommodity TradersCargo OwnersFreight ForwardersShipownersOperatorsBrokersMotivationBriefly explain why you are interested in joining AVS Shipbrokers LLC.ImportantOnly candidates with verifiable commercial achievements and measurable business results will be shortlisted.We are not looking for market reporters.
