Team members can expect a dynamic environment with exposure to both laboratory work and real-world applications of green technology.Role Description The Chemist role at JOL Energy is a full-time, on-site position based in Vellore. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and conducting laboratory experiments related to e-waste and lithium-ion battery recycling, preparing and analyzing chemical samples, and maintaining accurate records of procedures and results. The Chemist will support research and development activities, participate in process optimization, and assist in implementing quality control protocols for recycled materials. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional team members, ensuring safe laboratory practices, and contributing to the continuous improvement of recycling methodologies.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Laboratory Skills, including sample preparation, safe handling of chemicals, and use of common lab equipment.Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills and experience in Quality Control to evaluate material properties and ensure process consistency.Candidates should possess capabilities in Research and Development (R&D) and Research, with the ability to design experiments and interpret technical data.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.Knowledge of electrochemistry, battery materials, or waste management processes is an advantage.Ability to follow safety guidelines, document work clearly, and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Proactive mindset, willingness to work in a startup environment, and readiness to learn and adapt to evolving project needs.
