Chief Accountant

Adecco Romania is hiring a Chief Accountant on behalf of its client, a leading international company in the coffee and tea industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the accounting function, ensuring compliance with local regulations and international reporting standards, and leading the finance team to support the company's business objectives.Key Responsibilities:Lead and supervise the accounting department, ensuring efficient daily operationsOversee monthly and annual accounting activities in compliance with Romanian legislation and accounting regulationsPrepare and review accounting reports, tax declarations, statistical reports, and financial statements in accordance with RAS and IFRS standardsSupport financial reporting and controlling processes, ensuring the accuracy of statutory and IFRS reportingManage relationships with tax authorities and coordinate responses during tax inspections and auditsParticipate in internal and external audits by providing required documentation and informationLead, motivate, and develop the accounting team to achieve departmental objectivesConduct preventive reviews of accounting processes, identify risks, and implement corrective actionsReview and recommend improvements to existing accounting policies, procedures, and workflowsIdeal Candidate:5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a multinational companyBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related fieldCECCAR and/or ACCA certification is considered an advantageStrong knowledge of financial accounting and taxationExcellent understanding of Romanian Accounting Standards (RAS) and IFRSExperience working with ERP systems, preferably SAPAdvanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly ExcelStrong leadership, organizational, and analytical skillsWe sincerely thank all applicants for their interest in this opportunity.
