The company offers a dynamic international environment where finance teams play a key role in supporting business performance, compliance and continuous process improvement.About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to lead the accounting function in Romania, ensuring full compliance with statutory regulations, IFRS standards and tax legislation. This position combines hands-on technical accounting expertise with team leadership and close collaboration with both local and international stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the accounting team, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and compliance; Ensure accurate bookkeeping and financial reporting in accordance with Romanian statutory regulations, IFRS and Group policies; Manage monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting; Prepare, review and sign Corporate Income Tax, Withholding Tax and statutory financial statements; Coordinate the preparation of VAT, Excise Duty, Withholding Tax and other fiscal declarations in collaboration with the Tax Manager; Act as the main point of contact for tax authorities, managing inspections and audits; Coordinate interim and year-end external audits, ensuring timely delivery of all required documentation; Maintain the Fixed Assets Register and oversee Transfer Pricing documentation; Organize and supervise inventory and stock count processes; Monitor and strengthen internal controls while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements; Prepare statutory reports for regulatory authorities, including the National Bank and the National Institute of Statistics; Act as SAP FI Super Key User, supporting testing activities, process improvements and system enhancements; Review and improve accounting procedures to ensure alignment with local legislation and Group standards; Mentor, coach and develop the accounting team through continuous training and knowledge sharing. RequirementsMaster's degree in Accounting, Economics or a related field; Extensive experience in a senior accounting or Chief Accountant position; Strong knowledge of Romanian statutory accounting, IFRS and tax legislation; Experience managing month-end and year-end closing processes; Solid experience with external audits and interactions with tax authorities; Experience leading and developing accounting teams; Advanced SAP FI knowledge; Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel; Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and problem-solving abilities; Ability to prioritize, manage deadlines and work effectively in a dynamic business environment; Advanced English and Romanian.
