Chief Accountant

OVERVIEW OF POSITIONThe Chief Accountant holds a pivotal role in leading the accounting operations within the Company. This role encompasses overseeing accounting records, preparing financial statements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supervising the accounting team to maintain financial integrity and accuracy. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in accounting, with specific experience in the casino or gaming sector, demonstrating strong leadership capabilities and an in-depth understanding of casino financial regulations and reporting requirements.KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDuties may include but are not limited to:Oversee daily accounting department activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in ledgers and financial reporting, including variance analysis, capital asset reconciliations, and cash flow analysis.Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with established guidelines and legal requirements, with a keen understanding of casino operations' unique aspects.Lead and ensure the completion of annual audits, offering insights for procedural improvements to enhance financial processes and controls.Implement and uphold proper accounting methods, policies, and principles specific to the gaming industry.·       Coordinate tax filing and compliance efforts, adhering to local and government requirements.Mentor and develop the accounting team, aligning departmental objectives with the Company’s strategic goals.Ensure compliance with Anti-Money Laundering and other relevant financial regulations.Monitor financial performance and develop strategies to improve profitability and efficiency.Manage relationships with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and financial institutions.Conduct regular audits and reviews to safeguard the Company’s assets and financial health.Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to meet the Company’s objectives and comply with regulatory requirements.Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the direct manager.KEY FUNCTIONSAccounting Operations ManagementOversee daily accounting activities, ensure accuracy and efficiency in ledgers, financial reporting, and cash flow analysis.Prepare financial monthly, quarterly, and annual statements in compliance with guidelines and legal requirements.Audit and ComplianceLead annual audits, offer insights for procedural improvements and enhance financial processes.Implement accounting methods and policiesUphold principles specific to the gaming industry.Ensure regulatory compliance, adhere to local, state, and federal tax filing and compliance requirements.Team Leadership and DevelopmentMentor and develop the accounting team, align departmental objectives with the Company’s strategic goals.Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the accounting team.Reporting and CommunicationPrepare and present accurate and timely financial reports to the executive team and stakeholders.Communicate effectively with stakeholders, articulate financial concepts to non-financial colleagues.QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree or CPA certification highly preferred.At least 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, with specific experience in the casino or gaming industry strongly desired.Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, tax regulations, and the unique financial operations of casinos.Demonstrated proficiency in accounting software and financial systems, with a focus on gaming industry platforms.Proven leadership in managing accounting teams with a strategic approach to financial management.Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.High level of integrity, reliability, and dedication to financial accuracy and transparency.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Strong understanding of financial risk management and treasury functions.Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems relevant to casino operations.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
