You will manage a team of 8 people, drive process improvements, and provide critical financial insights to support the company's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
IFRS Financial Reporting & Compliance:Oversee the preparation and timely submission of accurate statutory financial statements (Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Profit or Loss and Other Comprehensive Income, Statement of Changes in Equity, Statement of Cash Flows, and accompanying notes) in full compliance with IFRS.Manage the period-end and year-end close processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to established timelines.Stay abreast of new IFRS pronouncements and interpretations, assessing their impact on the company's financial statements and ensuring timely implementation as well as local regulations.Operational Accounting Management (Retail Specifics):Supervise all core accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Fixed Assets.Oversee the recognition and accounting for revenue, including sales, returns, discounts and gift cards across multiple retail channels.Manage the accounting for property, plant, and equipment, including depreciation, impairment, and capital expenditure tracking.Ensure accurate accounting and reporting for leases under IFRS 16, including lease liability recognition, right-of-use asset valuation, and associated disclosures.Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations for consolidated entities.Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and trainingInternal Controls & Process Improvement:Regularly review and optimize accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability, leveraging ERP capabilities.Identify and implement automation opportunities within the accounting function.Act as a key user and subject matter expert for the ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics) concerning accounting modules.Tax Compliance & Management:Manage all tax-related accounting (e.g., Corporate Income Tax, VAT/Sales Tax), ensuring accurate calculations, timely filings, and compliance with local tax regulations.Liaise with external tax advisors on complex tax matters and audits.Audit Management:Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, providing required documentation, explanations, and analyses to facilitate timely and successful annual audits.Address auditor queries and implement audit recommendations effectively.This role requires a highly experienced and technically proficient accounting professional with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of retail operations and IFRS reporting requirements.Education and Experience:University Degree in Business Administration or EconomyMinimum 6 years of experience in a similar position; retail experience is a plusFluency in English (both written and verbal)Knowledge of importation & exportation applications is a plusAbility to work with Financial Consultants in order to keep all the accounting transactions in line with the legal requirementsAbility to work in a multinational/multicultural environmentMust be a good team player and strong in communicationMust be result-oriented and have a positive attitudeHigh sense of responsibility and ability to work under pressureAs LC Waikiki, we are committed to considering our environmental and social impacts throughout our value chain and to developing and maintaining an ethical, responsible, and sustainable business model that respects human rights.
