Every stay contributes to this mission, blending refined luxury with responsible environmental stewardship.Role Description The Chief Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Palawan, Philippines, responsible for overseeing all financial accounting operations for Banwa Private Island. This role includes managing general ledger activities, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and ensuring accurate recording of income, expenses, and assets. The Chief Accountant will handle budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring, as well as enforce internal controls and statutory compliance with local tax and regulatory requirements. Daily tasks include supervising the accounting team, coordinating audits, reconciling accounts, and improving financial processes and reporting systems. The role collaborates closely with leadership and operational teams to support strategic decision-making and maintain the financial health of the island’s hospitality and foundation activities.QualificationsStrong skills in financial accounting, general ledger management, and preparation of financial statementsExperience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash flow managementKnowledge of Philippine accounting standards, taxation, and regulatory complianceProficiency with accounting software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skillsExperience leading and mentoring accounting teams, with a focus on accuracy and integrityBackground in hospitality, luxury resorts, or related service industries is highly advantageousBachelor’s degree in Accountancy or Finance; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent credential preferredStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with high attention to detailAbility to work on-site in a remote island setting and collaborate effectively with diverse, cross-functional teamsCommitment to ethical conduct and alignment with Banwa Private Island’s sustainable and conservation-focused values
