Chief Accountant📍 Location: Heliopolis, Cairo, Egypt🏭 Industry: PVC Raw Materials Import & TradingAre you an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in import operations, inventory accounting, and ERP systems?We are looking for a Chief Accountant to join our growing team and lead the company's accounting operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on finance leader with expertise in Odoo ERP, import accounting, inventory valuation, financial reporting, and team leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesAs our Chief Accountant, you will be responsible for:Financial LeadershipLead and oversee the company's day-to-day accounting operations.Review and approve all accounting entries before posting, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.Produce Trial Balance, financial statements, and management reports for senior management.Inventory & Import AccountingManage inventory accounting and ensure accurate inventory valuation within Odoo ERP.Resolve inventory discrepancies and stock valuation issues, including negative inventory.Manage Landed Costs, including customs, freight, insurance, and other import-related expenses.Handle accounting for Letters of Credit (LCs), goods in transit, foreign currency transactions, and exchange differences.Reconciliations & Financial CloseReview and reconcile bank accounts, supplier and customer balances.Clear and monitor GR/IR, interim, suspense, and clearing accounts.Lead the monthly financial close and ensure timely completion of all closing activities.Review accruals, depreciation, prepaid expenses, and year-end adjustments.Support the review and finalization of previous financial years and opening balances.Tax & ComplianceEnsure compliance with Egyptian tax regulations and the Electronic Invoicing system.Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for external auditors and tax inspections.Team ManagementSupervise the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Accountants.Ensure proper segregation of duties and accounting controls within Odoo ERP.Coach, develop, and support the accounting team to achieve high performance.What We're Looking For✔ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.✔ 8–12 years of accounting experience, including experience as a Chief Accountant or in a supervisory accounting role.✔ Strong hands-on experience with Odoo ERP (Accounting, Inventory & Purchasing modules).✔ Proven experience in:Import accountingLetters of Credit (LCs)Customs & freight accountingForeign currency transactionsInventory valuationLanded CostsGeneral Ledger & Financial Reporting✔ Strong knowledge of Egyptian tax regulations and the Electronic Invoicing system.✔ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.✔ Good command of Arabic and English.Preferred BackgroundExperience in PVC, chemicals, industrial trading, manufacturing, or import companies.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent leadership and communication abilities.High attention to detail, integrity, and commitment to financial governance.
