Chief Accounting Officer

For the needs of our trusted client, a leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation in Bulgaria, we are looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to join their team in Sofia or Plovdiv.Job Profile for Chief AccountantResponsibilities will include but not be limited to:Lead and coordinate the local accounting team and ensure efficient delivery of accounting activitiesManage cooperation with international Accounting Competency Centres and address service or performance issues where requiredEnsure compliance with local statutory, tax and Group accounting requirementsOversee Group reporting, P&L and Balance Sheet reviews, statutory accounts and external auditManage tax compliance, including CIT, VAT and WHT, and support transfer pricing requirementsPartner with the business to identify accounting and tax risks and provide practical solutionsSupport internal controls, finance transformation initiatives and local/regulatory projectsIdentify opportunities for process optimisation and continuous improvementCandidate Profile for Chief AccountantMust be fluent in Bulgarian and English, both written and spokenUniversity degree in Accounting, Finance or a related fieldStrong knowledge of Bulgarian accounting and tax regulations. SAP knowledge is a strong advantageSignificant accounting and tax experience, ideally in a Chief Accountant or senior accounting positionERP experience is required.
