Required QualificationsCredentials and Experience– CPA (Canada) or CPA (U.S.) in good standing.– Ten or more years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, including at least three to five years as Corporate Controller, or Vice President of Corporate Controller, or Vice President of Finance and Accounting, or Chief Accounting Officer of a public reporting issuer.– Prior public company experience is required. Public accounting firm background is an asset at any firm tier; a Big Four pedigree is not a requirement for this role.IFRS– Full-cycle IFRS preparation experience for a Canadian reporting issuer, including annual and interim financial statements, note disclosure, and audit-ready supporting files.– Technical depth across: IFRS 3 business combinations; IFRS 10 and IFRS 11 consolidation, joint arrangements and equity-method investments; IFRS 9 financial instruments, including convertible debentures and warrant classification and derivative liability treatment; IFRS 2 share-based payments; IFRS 16 leases, including ground leases and power and interconnection arrangements; IAS 16 and IAS 23 capital projects, construction in progress and borrowing cost capitalization; IAS 21 translation of a USD-functional subsidiary group into a CAD presentation currency; IAS 36 impairment testing and CGU determination; and IAS 12 deferred tax, including cross-border attributes and loss carryforward preservation.U.S. GAAP– Working proficiency in U.S. GAAP, with practical experience preparing or converting financial information under both frameworks.– Ability to maintain U.S. subsidiary reporting, identify and document framework differences, and prepare a conversion or reconciliation package.– Familiarity with SEC reporting requirements and PCAOB audit standards, including the 10-K / 10-Q and 40-F / 20-F reporting regimes.
