Apply & track with Apply EdgePosition Summary:We are looking for an experienced Credit Officer to join our UAE Credit team. The role is responsible for credit analysis, approval processing, and portfolio monitoring for corporate and commercial clients in the UAE market. Candidates must bring hands-on familiarity with the UAE credit and business landscape, including experience in real estate developer financing, contracting, oil & gas, commodity trading and other key local sectors.Key ResponsibilitiesExercise credit approval in line with delegated credit limit authority for UAE corporate/commercial clientsConduct credit analysis, review and prepare credit approval memoranda and supporting documentation for submission to the appropriate approval authorities for UAE corporate/commercial clients credit proposals in excess of delegated credit limit authorityMonitor portfolio quality and identification of early-warning indicatorsAssess the creditworthiness, repayment capacity, financial strength, business model, and overall risk profile of customers and counterparties.Ensure proposed facilities are structured in accordance with the Bank's risk appetite, credit policies, delegated authorities, and applicable regulatory requirements.Evaluate new business proposals, renewals, amendments, excesses, restructurings, waivers, and other credit-related requests.Provide independent challenge to business proposals where required and ensure that material credit risks are appropriately identified and addressed.Qualifications & ExperienceMandatory: Local UAE market experience and knowledge, with a clear understanding of the local business and credit environmentBachelor’s degree /credit certifications preferredMinimum 12 to 15 years of experience in corporate/commercial credit within a bank or financial institutionOpen to candidates from a broader business and credit risk background, provided local UAE market knowledge is demonstratedStrong financial analysis skillsSound understanding of UAE regulatory frameworks and credit risk practicesExcellent written and verbal communication skills
