This is a key leadership hire as the organisation looks to modernise its data estate, build stronger engineering capabilities and use data more effectively across the customer journey!The Role As the Chief Data Officer, you will take ownership of the data strategy and lead a significant transformation of the organisation's data and analytics capabilities. Your remit is to come in, review and reshape the existing data capability, define the target operating model and lead the development of a modern data lake and warehouse architecture. A major focus will be creating a genuinely self-serve data environment, enabling teams across the business to access and use data more effectively. You will work closely with a tight-knit senior leadership team. The role will also have a strong focus on using AI to improve engineering productivity, including increasing development speed and efficiency through modern coding and development practices; one of the initial priorities will be the customer onboarding journey, using data to improve personalisation, analytics and the overall customer experience.Your Skills & Experience Senior data leader operating at Director / Chief Data Officer levelStrong background within a technology-led businessExperience building or significantly transforming data functionsStrong understanding of data engineering, data architecture, data platforms and analyticsExperience developing data lakes / modern data warehousesStrong track record of creating self-serve data capabilitiesComfortable being highly hands-on with technology and technical detailExperience working with Azure / Microsoft data technologies highly desirableStrong understanding of AI and how it can be used to improve engineering productivity and development efficiencyExperience working alongside architecture, product and engineering leadershipAble to operate strategically while remaining close to the technical detailFinancial services, fintech or similar technology-led environments would be advantageousThe Benefits £160,000-£180,000 How to Apply Please register your interest by sending your CV to Adam Osborne at Harnham via the Apply link on this page
