Chief Data Officer

Role Description The Chief Data Officer (CDO) at Speedinvest is a full-time, remote role responsible for defining and executing the firm’s data strategy across all investment and operational functions. The CDO will oversee the design and implementation of data frameworks, ensuring that data is captured, stored, and used effectively to support decision-making, portfolio analysis, and internal reporting. Day-to-day activities include collaborating with investment teams to identify data needs, leading data initiatives and projects, and establishing best practices for data governance and quality. The role involves managing data platforms and tools, coordinating with technology partners, and promoting data literacy across the organization. The CDO will also monitor regulatory developments, oversee data risk management, and ensure that data usage complies with applicable standards and regulations.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Data Governance and Data Management skills to establish policies, standards, and frameworks for responsible data use.Candidates should possess robust Data Quality and Data Science skills to design, monitor, and improve data pipelines, models, and analytics outputs.Candidates should possess advanced Analytical Skills to interpret complex datasets, generate insights, and support evidence-based decision-making.Candidates should possess leadership and stakeholder management skills to align data initiatives with business goals and influence senior decision-makers.Candidates should possess experience with modern data platforms, databases, and analytics tools, as well as knowledge of data privacy and security regulations.Candidates should possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional, and international environment.Candidates should possess a strong background in data-intensive roles; prior experience in financial services, investing, or technology-driven organizations is beneficial.Candidates should possess an advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
