We are now looking for a leader who can build the institution’s next chapter—mobilizing capital, backing exceptional founders, strengthening institutional relationships, and helping shape Bangladesh’s venture capital ecosystem.The OpportunityThis is an opportunity to lead one of Bangladesh’s pioneering venture capital institutions at a time when the country’s startup and alternative investment ecosystem is entering a new phase of institutional development. We are looking for someone who can connect capital, entrepreneurship, regulation, and opportunity and build BD Venture into an even stronger investment institution.Reporting to: Board of DirectorsKey ResponsibilitiesThe CEO will be responsible for:Setting and executing BD Venture’s overall strategy, investment direction, and growth roadmap.Leading fundraising and developing relationships with banks, NBFIs, institutional investors, corporates, DFIs, family offices, and other potential Limited Partners.Leading the investment lifecycle, including deal sourcing, evaluation, due diligence, valuation, structuring, investment decisions, portfolio monitoring, and exits.Building and maintaining strong relationships with Bangladesh Bank, BSEC, Startup Bangladesh Limited, ICT Division, and other relevant government and regulatory stakeholders.Maintaining deep engagement with Bangladesh’s startup, venture capital, private equity, technology, and entrepreneurial communities.Working closely with portfolio companies and founders on strategy, governance, fundraising, growth, and operational improvement.Identifying opportunities for co-investment and strategic partnerships with domestic and international investors.Developing new funds and investment products aligned with market opportunities.Strengthening governance, compliance, risk management, and institutional processes.Representing BD Venture with investors, regulators, founders, industry bodies, media, and other stakeholders.Building and leading a high-performing investment and management team.Educational RequirementsBachelor’s and/or Master’s degree from a reputed university.CFA Charter holders will receive priority consideration.Candidates with backgrounds in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or related disciplines are encouraged to apply.Engineers with an MBA or equivalent postgraduate business qualification are also strongly encouraged to apply.Professional qualifications such as CA, ACCA, CPA, or CAIA will be considered an advantage.Experience Requirements10 to 12 year(s)The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):Investment/Merchant BankingAdditional RequirementsWho We Are Looking ForThe ideal candidate should have:10–12 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in Venture Capital, Private Equity, Investment Banking, Fund Management, Banking, Development Finance, Corporate Finance, Startups, or related sectors.Strong understanding of Bangladesh’s investment, financial, startup, and regulatory landscape.Demonstrated experience in investments, fundraising, deal structuring, portfolio management, or institutional relationship management.Strong relationships with Bangladesh Bank, Startup Bangladesh, financial institutions, investors, regulators, and the wider startup ecosystem.Strong financial analysis, valuation, negotiation, and commercial decision-making capabilities.Ability to work effectively with both institutional stakeholders and entrepreneurs.Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.Sound understanding of venture capital, private equity, alternative investments, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
