Confidential Music Licensing & Content Technology CompanyThe OpportunityA profitable, founder-led music licensing and content technology company is seeking a driven Chief Executive Officer to lead its next stage of growth and position the business for financing or a strategic transaction.Operating at the intersection of premium content, intellectual property, licensing, and technology, the company serves customers across digital media, entertainment, brands, agencies, and emerging content platforms. Its respected catalog, established relationships, and recurring and transactional revenue provide a strong foundation for expansion.The incoming CEO will inherit a stable, profitable company with a talented, lean team and strong industry reputation, work closely with a seasoned co-founder during the transition, and build measurable enterprise value.The RoleThe CEO will own strategy, commercial performance, operations, talent, and long-term value creation.The immediate priority is growth. In this hands-on role leading a 10-person company, the CEO must be equally comfortable in board discussions and personally advancing enterprise sales, partnerships, and key accounts.During a thoughtful transition, the CEO will absorb institutional knowledge and transfer founder-held customer, creator, partner, and industry relationships into the organization.The CEO will build scalable commercial capabilities, evaluate new products and markets, and prepare the company for strategic opportunities.Key ResponsibilitiesRevenue Growth and Commercial Leadership     Own the company’s revenue strategy and deliver sustainable, profitable growth.     Personally lead enterprise sales, business development, and strategic partnership activity.     Build and manage a disciplined sales pipeline, including clear targets, forecasting, conversion metrics, and accountability.     Expand key accounts and partnerships across media, entertainment, technology platforms, agencies, brands, gaming, and adjacent markets.     Develop new channels, licensing models, customer segments, and recurring-revenue opportunities while strengthening retention.     Represent the company with senior executives, investors, partners, and potential strategic buyers.Strategy and Enterprise Value Creation     Develop and execute a focused growth plan, concentrating resources where the company has the greatest advantage.     Evaluate organic growth, partnerships, acquisitions, financing, and other strategic alternatives.     Improve revenue quality and predictability while protecting profitability.     Establish the financial, commercial, operational, and governance discipline required for due diligence and a potential investment, merger, acquisition, or sale.     Position the company for an attractive outcome without sacrificing current performance or long-term optionality.Leadership and Operations     Lead, motivate, and develop a small, experienced, multidisciplinary team.     Translate strategy into clear priorities, goals, accountability, and operating rhythms.     Allocate resources thoughtfully and add capabilities selectively as the business grows.     Maintain a culture that values creativity, accountability, collaboration, responsiveness, and integrity.     Align technology, rights, content, and service capabilities with commercial priorities.Founder and Relationship Transition     Partner with the co-founder to absorb institutional knowledge and understand key decisions and relationships.    Build trust with long-standing customers, content partners, creators, and industry stakeholders while deliberately transferring founder-held relationships.     Preserve the company’s reputation, culture, and relationship-centered approach while communicating the transition clearly and introducing changes required for growth.Board and Financial Leadership    Maintain a transparent, productive board relationship and report clearly on revenue, pipeline, profitability, cash, risks, and priorities.     Own budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation, metrics, and overall business performance.Candidate ProfileThe successful candidate will be a commercially accomplished executive ready to assume full leadership of an entrepreneurial company.They may be:     An experienced growth-stage leader;     A president, general manager, commercial or revenue leader ready to become CEO; or     A founder or entrepreneurial business leader with relevant commercial and leadership experience.Music-industry experience is highly desirable but not required. Relevant backgrounds include media, entertainment, content licensing, creator platforms, gaming, advertising technology, digital marketplaces, intellectual property, and adjacent technology-enabled businesses.Required Experience and Capabilities     A strong record in sales, business development, revenue leadership, or strategic partnerships.     Executive leadership experience with responsibility for business performance, strategic execution, cross-functional relationships, and board engagement.     Resourcefulness and a genuine interest in leading a lean organization through personal contribution and influence.     Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.Highly Valued Experience     Music licensing, publishing, synchronization, production music, rights management, or music technology;     Content licensing, intellectual property, digital media, gaming, creator platforms, or embedded media services;     Subscription, SaaS, API, marketplace, or other technology-enabled business models;     Scaling a company toward financing or a strategic transaction, including due diligence;     Founder succession and building scalable commercial capabilities in a relationship-led organization.Leadership CharacteristicsThe ideal CEO will be:     Commercially driven and energized by winning business;    Entrepreneurial, resourceful, and comfortable with limited infrastructure;     Motivated by building long-term enterprise value;     Strategic and willing to work directly in the business;     Curious about evolving media, technology, licensing, and content-consumption models;     Respectful of creators, intellectual property, and long-standing partnerships; and     Confident, decisive, accountable, transparent, and able to balance continuity with change.Compensation Range: $150,000-$180,000 USD + 30% Bonus + Equity - GBP will be equavilatent to USD BudgetCompensation will reflect the company’s size and stage and include:     A market-appropriate base salary and performance bonus tied to growth and profitability; and     Meaningful equity or equity-linked compensation aligned with long-term value creation.The role is best suited to an executive who views ownership and enterprise value creation as central to total compensation.ConfidentialityThis search is confidential.
