Role DescriptionAn Engineering Director is responsible for leading engineering strategy, technical operations, projects, and engineering teams while ensuring quality, safety, efficiency, and business objectives are achieved.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement engineering strategies, standards, and plans.Lead engineering projects from planning through completion.Manage engineering teams, resources, budgets, and technical priorities.Oversee design, development, testing, installation, and commissioning activities.Review engineering designs, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.Monitor project schedules, costs, quality, and technical performance.Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety requirements, and regulations.Resolve technical, operational, and engineering-related issues.Oversee equipment, materials, technology, and engineering resources.Manage engineering risks, changes, technical approvals, and project requirements.Drive innovation, efficiency, cost reduction, and continuous improvement.Prepare technical reports, budgets, forecasts, and management updates.Lead, coach, and develop engineering teams.Provide technical advice and strategic recommendations to senior management.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.Extensive experience in engineering management or senior engineering leadership.Strong experience in engineering design, project management, and technical operations.Proven ability to manage engineering teams, projects, budgets, and resources.Good knowledge of engineering standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.Experience with engineering software, project management tools, and technical systems.Good commercial, financial, and risk management awareness.Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.Professional engineering certification or Chartered Engineer status is advantageous.UAE/GCC engineering experience is preferred.Professional, strategic, organized, accountable, and results-oriented approach.
