QualificationsPlease visit https://baliconstruction.com to learn more about our company.Major Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions):Financial Strategy & Executive Leadership Serve as a key member of the senior leadership team advising ownership and executive leadership on financial strategy, risk exposure, and growth opportunities.Develop and implement long-term financial strategies aligned with company objectives.Provide financial analysis and insight to support strategic decisions, including expansion, acquisitions, and capital investments.Establish financial policies and procedures that support disciplined financial management and operational efficiency.Support growth through analysis of courses of action, modeling of debt, capital expenditures, and acquisitions.Work with HR to manage ESOP deliverables and compliance reporting requirements.Financial Management & ReportingOversee all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting functions.Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, project financial reporting, and company-wide performance metrics.Lead development of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.Implement financial controls and reporting systems to support transparency and accountabilityPrepare all reporting for all board meetingsConstruction Finance & Project OversightOversee financial performance of construction projects, including job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, and margin analysis.Monitor backlog, revenue recognition, and profitability forecasts.Partner with operations leadership to identify financial risks and opportunities across projects.Support estimating and project teams in evaluating financial exposure and contract risk.Treasury, Banking & Surety RelationshipsManage company banking relationships, credit facilities, and working capital strategies.Timely bank covenant forecasting to ensure compliance.Oversee cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning to ensure operational stability.Maintain strong relationships with surety providers and manage bonding capacity.Lead preparation of financial information required for surety underwriting and bonding programs.Manage company credit card and payment systems.Risk Management & ComplianceOversee enterprise risk management, including insurance programs, claims exposure, and financial risk mitigation.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, tax obligations, and financial reporting standards.Coordinate external audits and maintain relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and financial consultants.Maintain strong operations, estimating, and executive leadership.Executive Team ResponsibilitiesActively participate in the development, planning, execution, and review of corporate goals and initiatives.Support the Bali mission, vision, and values.Participate in executive team discussions and provide feedback and suggestions for initiatives.Prepare and participate in budget discussions, bid reviews, project post-mortems, and performance evaluations.Counsel and mentor subordinates and provide feedback on 360-style reviews.Oversee the IT departmentPlan and execute moving IT from a third-party provider to in-housePerform feasibility study to move ERP system from Sage 300 CER ERP to a cloud-based alternativeOversee all hardware, cyber security, and software functionality initiativesPosition Requirements: Education, Experience, Skills, and Education:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.CPA (Certified Public Accountant) strongly preferred.MBA or advanced business degree preferred but not required.Knowledge & SkillsComprehensive knowledge of construction accounting practices and revenue recognition, including CFMA Best Practices and US GAAP Standards.Strong understanding of bonding capacity management and surety relationships.Expertise in cash flow management in project-based environments.Ability to translate financial data into actionable strategic insight.Exceptional leadership, communication, and executive presence.High level of integrity and commitment to ethical financial management.Oversee and optimize ERP systems, including Sage, Vista Cloud, and similar platforms, to ensure seamless financial operations and reporting.Experience20+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5-7 years in a senior finance leadership role.10+ years of experience within construction, heavy civil, or infrastructure contracting preferred but not required.Demonstrated experience managing construction job costing, WIP reporting, and project financial analysis.Proven experience managing banking relationships, credit facilities, and construction bonding programs.Experience leading finance teams in mid-sized construction organizations ($50M $200M revenue) preferred.Experience supporting executive leadership with strategic financial planning and decision-making.Experience in an ESOP company preferred.Proven ability to lead ERP system migrations, ensuring seamless transitions that scale with and support company growth.Physical Requirements in Accordance with ADAOffice/Outdoor Environment – sitting at a desk; physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing. Ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.
