Having achieved meaningful scale, the business is now focused on strengthening its operational foundations, enhancing execution and creating the platform required to realise its long-term ambitions.About the RoleAs CFO, you will work as the founder's closest financial and operational partner, bringing structure, discipline and execution to an environment defined by ambition, pace and complexity. You will have responsibility for rebuilding and modernising the finance function, elevating financial governance and control, and introducing the processes, systems and capabilities required to support a high-performing business over the long term. This is a rare opportunity for a hands-on finance leader who thrives on building rather than inheriting.Reporting directly to the Founder, you will:Redesign and build the finance function, implementing the structures, controls, processes and capabilities required to support future growth.Strengthen governance, compliance, cash management and risk management capabilities.Introduce automation and AI-enabled solutions to improve efficiency, insight and decision-making.Deliver timely and actionable financial reporting to drive better business performance.Partner closely with the leadership team on commercial strategy and long-term planning.Bring greater visibility and accountability across the organisation through robust KPI reporting and performance management.Act as a trusted adviser, providing constructive challenge, independent thinking and sound judgement.Help create the operational foundations required to scale the business significantly over the coming years.About You We are looking for a builder first and an operator second. You will be someone who has personally designed, implemented and scaled the people, processes and systems that underpin a high-performing finance function. You understand how great finance organisations are constructed because you have built them yourself.You will likely bring:Qualified CFO or senior finance leadership experience within a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.A track record of building finance functions, controls and reporting infrastructure from the ground up.Strong technical accounting, governance and compliance expertise.Deep experience implementing systems, automation and process improvement initiatives.A genuine interest in leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve finance operations.Experience helping scale a business through a significant growth phase, ideally from c.£30m to £100m+ revenue.Strong commercial acumen and the ability to operate beyond the boundaries of a traditional finance remit.A can-do attitude with a genuine appetite for tackling problems and finding a way through them.Experience within consumer, e-commerce, technology-enabled or similarly fast-moving businesses is advantageous.Personal AttributesSuccess in this role will require someone who is:Naturally curious and intellectually rigorous.Energised by solving complex problems.Highly accountable with a strong sense of ownership.Comfortable operating at pace and managing ambiguity.Resilient, pragmatic and execution-focused.Commercially minded while maintaining strong financial discipline.Confident enough to challenge constructively and influence at board level.If you're excited by the opportunity to build, shape and scale a business alongside an ambitious founder, we'd love to hear from you.
