Reports are presented to the Executive Management and Business Unit Heads to help in decision-making. Meet bankers to ensure a good relationship that would help negotiate reasonable terms plus work to develop hedging methods to mitigate risk and provide business plan in case of overdraft and/or loan facility. Meet insurers and provide Insurance declarations to ensure the company’s assets are adequately covered. Meet debtors and creditors to ensure maintenance and adequacy resulting from the working capital cycle. To increase and realize the value of the shareholders’ stake in the company through strategic financial management of the company by directly assisting the Executive Management on all strategic and tactical matters related to involving strategic investments, banking, credits, budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs and the securing of new funding to obtain optimal organic and inorganic growth by maximizing top line and bottom line thereby actualizing the financial objectives of the organization as per the strategic business plan.ResponsibilitiesAssess the benefits of all prospective contracts and advise the Executive Team on project design and implementation matters - Effective Benefits Administrations and Control.Aggressively drive achievement of organization top line and bottom-line - Achievement of top line and bottom line.Plan and drive regional expansion to enlarge the regional footprint and enabling the organization to go public - Enlarged regional footprint going public.Assess the feasibility of inorganic growth of the organization and advise the Executive Team on commercial viability of implementation matters. - Commercially viable inorganic growth.Ensure adequate controls are installed and that substantiating documentation is approved and available such that all purchases may pass independent and governmental audits. - Alignment to government regulations.Provide the Executive Management with an operating budget. Work with them to ensure project success through cost analysis support, and compliance with all contractual and programmatic requirements. This includes:Interpreting legislative and project rules and regulations to ensure compliance with all regional, state, local and contractual guidelines.Ensuring that all government regulations and requirements are disseminated to appropriate personnel.Monitoring compliance. - Alignment to budget and legal regulations.Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including organizational revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, reports to funding agencies, development, and monitoring of organizational and contract/grant budgets. - Effective reporting that aids the top management in decision making.Develop and maintain effective credit management system and systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets and avoid bad debts of the organization - Effective implementation of internal controls.Oversee the coordination and activities of independent auditors ensuring all audit issues are resolved, and all compliance issues are met, and the preparation of the annual financial statements is in accordance with regional, state, and other required supplementary schedules and information. - No non-conformities.Attend Board and Subcommittee meetings, including being the lead staff on the Audit/Finance Committee. - Company Procedures.Monitor and oversee banking activities of the organization and develop new banking relationships and leverage existing relationships that enable the organization.Development of financial model and sensitivity analyses to support bidding process. - Winning bids.Implementing financial systems that would automate the current manual processes plus upgrade/change and integrate the vertical systems. - Fast close of accounts, Staff rationalization, Balanced Scorecard - financial and non-financial indicators.Review, amend and implement financial policies and procedures - Compliance, Uniformity.Identify significant risks, evaluate the potential frequency and severity of losses, and develop and select methods for managing risk, implement and monitor the performance and suitability of the risk management methods and strategies. - Adequate insurance cover, Hedging to secure funding, when necessary, with good repayment terms - Secure Funding with low interest rates and good repayment terms.Ensure adequate cash flow to meet the organization's needs and oversee and monitor working capital in the organization and reduce it wherever necessary - Free Cash Flow and working capital availability.Serve as one of the trustees and oversee administration and financial reporting of the organization's Savings and Retirement Plan. - Reports.Investigate cost-effective benefit plans and other fringe benefits which the organization may offer employees and ensure pay-out is within the norms and budget - Cost Effectiveness and Optimization.Oversee the production of monthly reports including reconciliations with funders and as well as financial statements and cash flow projections for use by Executive management, as well as the Audit/Finance Committee and Board of Directors. - Reports and Financial Statements.Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and ensure a disaster recovery plan is in place. - Effective untoward disaster management.Oversee business insurance plans and coverage analysis. - Business Insurance to be in place.Oversee the maintenance of the inventory of all fixed assets, including assets purchased with government funds (computers, etc.) assuring all are in accordance with legal regulations. - Effective Asset Management for cost optimization.Key merger and acquisition strategist, working with the Executive Management to ensure that mergers and acquisition plans meet larger corporate objectives - Smooth Transition Management.Synergy manager, capturing every deal’s cost savings, leveraging combined capabilities, and driving joint market strategies - Smooth Transition Management.Business integrator, identifying the changes related to personnel, processes, and organizational structure that best bring out a deal’s value Smooth Change and Integration Management.Drive budgeting and budgetary control system - Approval and implementation of annual budget. - Periodical variance analysis.Review customer, product/service, contract, and line of business profitability - Profitability.Co-approver with the Executive Management + co-approver with Business Unit Heads as per the proposed Delegation of Authority matrix.Proposed authorized bank signatory and general practice will be for the incumbent to approve with the Executive Management all payments and bank transfers.QualificationsMinimum 20 to 25 years relevant work experience as a Management and Treasury Accountant, Financial Controller with a minimum of 10 years top managerial experience in a mid or large sized Facility Management firm or related organizations.Bachelor’s Degree with specialization in Finance from a recognized Tier A B School OR Masters / Bachelor of Commerce from a top tier recognized institution with Specialization in Advanced Accounting and Auditing.Chartered Accountant from a Recognized Institute (CA) is a must.
