Columbia Reach / Chiawana OrchardsYakima, WashingtonSalary Range: $160,000–$220,000 annuallyFull-Time | Executive Leadership | Primarily On-SitePosition OverviewColumbia Reach / Chiawana Orchards, a fruit growing and packing operation located in Yakima, Washington, is seeking an experienced financial leader to join our organization as Chief Financial Officer / VP of Finance.This position is responsible for providing strategic and hands-on financial leadership across multiple business entities and partnering closely with ownership and operational leadership. The successful candidate will oversee financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, treasury, financial controls, compliance, and long-term financial planning.We are open to candidates with previous CFO experience as well as accomplished Controllers, Directors of Finance, or VPs of Finance. This is an opportunity for a strong financial leader to have a meaningful impact on the financial strategy, systems, processes, and future direction of an established agricultural and packing organization.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner directly with ownership and senior leadership on financial strategy, business planning, and organizational decision-making.Lead the company's accounting and finance functions across multiple entities.Oversee timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly and year-end financial statements.Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.Develop and maintain cash-flow forecasting and provide ownership with visibility into short- and long-term cash requirements.Oversee treasury activities, banking relationships, financing, and lender reporting.Analyze financial and operational performance and provide meaningful reporting and recommendations to ownership.Establish and maintain strong internal controls, financial policies, and accounting procedures.Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, processes, reporting, and operational efficiencies.Oversee external financial relationships, including banks, auditors, CPAs, insurance providers, and other financial partners.Ensure compliance with applicable financial, tax, reporting, and regulatory requirements.Provide leadership, development, and accountability for the accounting and finance team.Work collaboratively with operations and department leaders to understand financial performance, costs, risks, and opportunities.Support ownership with special projects, capital planning, business analysis, and strategic initiatives.Provide appropriate oversight and direction for business systems and IT-related financial priorities.QualificationsWe are interested in candidates who bring a strong combination of financial expertise, leadership ability, and practical business judgment.Preferred qualifications include:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.Progressive financial leadership experience, ideally as a CFO, VP of Finance, Finance Director, Corporate Controller, or similar senior-level position.Approximately 7+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience preferred.Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, accounting, and internal controls.Demonstrated experience leading and developing accounting or finance teams.Experience working directly with owners, executives, or senior operational leadership.Experience within a multi-entity or operationally complex organization strongly preferred.Agriculture, food processing, manufacturing, distribution, or similar operational industry experience is highly desirable.CPA or other relevant professional designation preferred but not required.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial information into practical business recommendations.Ability to balance strategic financial leadership with a willingness to be hands-on when necessary.Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization.Who We Are Looking ForThe right candidate does not necessarily need to have previously held the CFO title.We are particularly interested in experienced financial leaders who have already developed strong capabilities in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, financial controls, and team leadership and are ready to assume broader responsibility within an organization.The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a hands-on, operational environment, partnering directly with ownership, and developing a strong understanding of the business beyond the financial statements.We value a leader who can identify issues, develop solutions, improve processes, and provide ownership with clear and reliable financial information to support business decisions.
