FyneHand has been mandated to hire a Deputy Chief Information Officer for a leading player in the banking industry. The job location is Hyderabad.Role overview: The Deputy Chief Information Officer (Deputy CIO) supports the CIO in leading the bank's enterprise-wide technology function, covering IT infrastructure, applications, digital platforms, information security governance, and technology operations. The role is responsible for driving execution of the IT strategy, ensuring operational excellence, supporting digital transformation initiatives, and maintaining a secure, resilient, and scalable technology environment aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements.The Deputy CIO acts as a key strategic partner to business and technology stakeholders, ensuring efficient delivery of technology services while fostering innovation and continuous improvement across the Bank.Key Responsibilities:IT Strategy Execution & LeadershipSupport the CIO in implementing the bank's technology strategy and transformation roadmapDrive execution of technology initiatives aligned with business growth and digital prioritiesAssist in evaluating and implementing emerging technologies including AI, cloud computing, advanced analytics, automation, blockchain, and other innovative solutionsCollaborate with business leaders to identify technology opportunities that enhance customer experience and operational efficiencyAct as the CIO's delegate in governance forums, committees, and strategic technology discussions as requiredIT Infrastructure & Operations ManagementOversee day-to-day management of enterprise IT infrastructure, networks, cloud platforms, and data center operationsEnsure high availability, reliability, performance, and scalability of critical banking systems and applicationsLead IT operations, application support, service management, and incident resolution processesMonitor technology performance through defined service levels and operational metricsDrive continuous improvements in infrastructure modernization, automation, and operational efficiencyCybersecurity, Governance & Risk ManagementPartner with the CIO and CISO to strengthen cybersecurity frameworks, governance standards, and risk management practicesEnsure compliance with regulatory guidelines, internal policies, security standards, and audit requirementsSupport vulnerability assessments, security reviews, penetration testing, and risk remediation initiativesOversee Business Continuity Planning (BCP), Disaster Recovery (DR), and operational resilience programsMonitor technology risks and implement proactive measures to mitigate operational and cybersecurity threatsDigital Transformation & InnovationSupport the CIO and Chief Digital Officer in delivering digital transformation programs across channels, products, and customer journeysPromote agile delivery practices to accelerate technology implementation and business outcomesDrive innovation initiatives focused on automation, process optimization, digital platforms, and data-driven decision makingFacilitate collaboration between technology and business teams to ensure successful adoption of digital solutionsVendor, Partner & Budget ManagementAssist in managing IT budgets, resource planning, technology investments, and cost optimization initiativesOversee vendor performance, service-level compliance, and technology partner relationshipsSupport contract negotiations, procurement activities, and governance of third-party service providersEnsure effective utilization of technology resources while maintaining cost discipline and operational efficiencyTeam Leadership & Organizational CapabilityLead and mentor technology teams across infrastructure, applications, service delivery, digital platforms, and cybersecurity functionsBuild a high-performance culture through coaching, capability development, and succession planningFoster collaboration across business units and technology teams to drive organizational effectivenessPromote innovation, accountability, and continuous learning within the technology organizationSupport workforce planning and talent development to build future-ready technology capabilitiesQualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline15-20 years of progressive experience in Information Technology, with substantial leadership experience within the BFSI sectorProven track record of managing enterprise technology operations, infrastructure, and large-scale technology programsStrong exposure to core banking systems, digital banking platforms, IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, and information securityExperience in driving transformation initiatives, technology modernization, and operational excellence programsDemonstrated success in managing large teams, strategic vendors, and cross-functional stakeholder relationshipsKey Skills &
