Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute the college’s technology strategic plan and annual IT roadmapAlign technology initiatives with institutional strategic goalsEstablish IT governance, policies, and decision-making processesAssess infrastructure, systems, and IT operations and recommend improvementsLead, develop, and guide the internal IT teamOversee major technology projects, including ERP/SIS initiativesManage technology procurement, vendors, and contractsDevelop IT budgets and resource allocation recommendationsLead cybersecurity risk management and business continuity/disaster recovery planningSupport digital transformation initiativesReport to college leadership and, when required, the Board of TrusteesLead the initial technology discovery/assessment and deliver a 90-day action planRequired Qualifications10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience5+ years as a CIO, VP of IT, IT Director, or equivalentHigher Education IT leadership experience is criticalExperience developing technology strategies and roadmapsIT governance and policy development experienceIT budgeting, procurement, and vendor contract managementExperience leading, developing, and restructuring IT teamsExperience overseeing major technology projects, including ERP/SIS implementationsKnowledge of cybersecurity risk management, NIST, and DR/BC planningKnowledge of FERPA and GLBAStrong executive and board-level communication skillsBachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or a related fieldAbility to provide 2–3 professional references; higher education references preferredPreferred QualificationsHigher education IT leadership, particularly at a community collegeExperience with Ellucian Colleague, Canvas LMS, and Microsoft 365Master’s degree – MBA, MS in Information Systems, or related fieldCGEIT, CISSP, CISM, PMP, or ITIL certificationPublic-sector experienceRural or multi-campus institution experienceBased in Wyoming or a nearby state, or available for regular travel to Rock Springs
