Team members collaborate to produce high-quality content and tools for a sophisticated financial audience.Role Description The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is a full-time remote role responsible for defining, implementing, and overseeing the organization’s information security strategy. The CISO will lead the design and management of security programs, policies, and controls that protect data, systems, and infrastructure across the company. Daily responsibilities include assessing security risks, monitoring cybersecurity threats, directing incident response activities, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The CISO will collaborate with technology, operations, and leadership teams to integrate security into product development, data management, and vendor relationships. This role also includes developing security awareness initiatives, maintaining business continuity and disaster recovery plans, and regularly reporting security posture and priorities to executive leadership.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Information Security and Information Security Management skills, including policy development, risk assessment, and governance.Candidates should possess deep Cybersecurity expertise, such as threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and security operations.Candidates should possess Application Security skills, including secure software development practices, code review, and application vulnerability remediation.Candidates should possess Business Continuity capabilities, including disaster recovery planning, resilience strategies, and crisis management.Extensive experience in senior information security leadership roles, ideally within data-driven or financial services organizations.Knowledge of relevant security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2) and regulatory requirements affecting financial and data-focused firms.Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex security topics to non-technical audiences.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; advanced degree or recognized security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCISO) are beneficial.
