You will be hands-on technical (Security Architecture & Engineering) and own the security architecture for Japan.Language: Fluent-level Japanese and Business-level English.Salary Budget: JPY 30,000,000 (Negotiable/Flexible based on relevant experiences/skills).The role:A senior cybersecurity executive role combining Japan/ Regional CISO responsibilities together with leadership of Security Architecture & Engineering, responsible for cyber strategy, security transformation, risk governance, regulatory compliance, and global stakeholder management.Lead Japan's Cybersecurity Strategy and ArchitectureOwn the security architecture and engineering function for Japan, defining security frameworks, reference architectures, and security-by-design practices while aligning with global security standards and business objectives.Drive Security Engineering, Cloud, AI, and Infrastructure ProtectionLead the design, implementation, and operation of secure network, cloud, AI, endpoint, data protection, and security tooling capabilities, while evaluating emerging technologies, automation, and innovation opportunities.Serve as Japan Regional CISOOversee information security governance, risk management, regulatory compliance, incident response, cyber threat management, business continuity, and stakeholder engagement across Japan's business entities and regulators.Partner with Global and Regional LeadershipCollaborate closely with global security leaders, CTO/CIO organizations, business units, audit, legal, risk, HR, and external agencies to ensure consistent security controls, regulatory alignment, and enterprise-wide resilience.Build and Lead High-Performing Security TeamsEstablish and scale security architecture and engineering capabilities in Japan and APAC. Manage talent strategy, recruitment, mentoring, succession planning, and foster a high-performance security culture across regional teams.
