Chief Investment Officer – Financial Services | RiyadhA leading financial services business is seeking an experienced Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to lead and develop its investment function from Riyadh.This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for the company’s overall investment strategy, asset allocation and portfolio performance. The successful candidate will play a key role in determining how the business deploys capital, manages liquidity and balances risk and return across a diversified portfolio.The CIO will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to ensure the investment strategy is aligned with the company’s broader financial and strategic objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement the company’s overall investment strategy and asset allocation framework.Build and manage a balanced, diversified portfolio across multiple asset classes.Determine strategic and tactical allocations across Private Equity, Fixed Income, Public Equities, Emerging Markets, Real Estate and other alternative investments.Oversee liquidity and cash management, ensuring capital is appropriately positioned to meet the company’s requirements.Develop and maintain investment policies, guidelines, risk parameters and governance frameworks.Identify and assess external asset managers, investment opportunities and strategic investment partnerships.Build strong relationships with a broad network of global and regional asset managers, private equity firms, investment banks and other investment partners.Evaluate portfolio performance, risk and returns and make recommendations to the CEO and senior leadership team.Ensure the investment portfolio delivers attractive risk-adjusted returns while maintaining appropriate liquidity and capital preservation.Establish a robust investment governance and decision-making framework.Lead the continued development of the investment function, including building and hiring a high-performing investment team.Monitor global and regional macroeconomic, market and investment trends and assess their impact on the portfolio.Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, risk and investment requirements.The ideal candidate will be an experienced investment professional with a strong track record of managing institutional capital and allocating across multiple asset classes.Experience within financial services, insurance, asset management, sovereign wealth, pension funds or other institutional investment platforms would be highly relevant.The successful candidate will ideally have:Significant senior-level investment experience within an institutional or financial services environment.Extensive experience across multiple asset classes, including Private Equity, Fixed Income, Equities, Emerging Markets, Real Estate and Alternatives.Strong expertise in strategic asset allocation, portfolio construction and risk management.Experience developing investment policies, frameworks and governance structures.A strong understanding of liquidity and cash management.An established network of relationships with leading global and regional asset managers.Experience managing and developing investment professionals, with the ability to build out a broader investment team.Strong commercial judgement and the ability to translate investment strategy into measurable portfolio outcomes.Excellent communication skills and the ability to operate effectively with CEOs, boards and senior stakeholders.GCC / Middle East investment experience is preferred, while international investment experience is highly valued.
