Chief Medical/Clinical Officer- Infusion

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will serve as the senior clinical leader for a growing outpatient infusion organization. This physician executive will provide clinical leadership and oversight across the organization, helping ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, patient-centered infusion care while supporting continued growth and expansion.The CMO will partner closely with executive leadership, operations, nursing, pharmacy, and other clinical leaders to establish clinical standards, improve outcomes, support provider relationships, and ensure consistent clinical practices across the organization’s infusion centers.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide overall physician and clinical leadership across the outpatient infusion organization.Establish and maintain clinical standards, protocols, policies, and best practices for infusion therapy.Partner with nursing, pharmacy, and operational leadership to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient patient care.Provide medical oversight and guidance for complex clinical issues, adverse events, and patient safety matters.Lead clinical quality initiatives, including development and monitoring of key quality and patient outcome measures.Support clinical governance, credentialing, compliance, and regulatory activities.Serve as a clinical resource and physician voice for the organization’s executive leadership team.Build and maintain relationships with referring physicians, health systems, specialists, and other clinical partners.Support the evaluation and introduction of new therapies, service lines, and clinical programs.Partner with business and operational leadership as the organization expands into new markets and opens additional infusion centers.Participate in physician and advanced practice provider recruitment, onboarding, education, and clinical development as appropriate.Represent the organization externally with physicians, industry partners, payers, and other key stakeholders.Help foster a culture focused on clinical excellence, patient safety, collaboration, and exceptional patient experience.QualificationsMD or DO degree with an active and unrestricted medical license. Ideally, Rheumatologist or NeurologistBoard certification in an appropriate medical specialty.Significant clinical experience with infusion therapy, specialty medications, or the care of patients receiving complex therapies preferred.Prior physician leadership experience within an outpatient infusion, specialty pharmacy, health system, medical group, or other multi-site healthcare organization preferred.Strong understanding of clinical quality, patient safety, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based medicine.Experience working collaboratively with nursing, pharmacy, operations, and executive leadership.Ability to balance clinical excellence with the operational and growth needs of a rapidly expanding healthcare organization.Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage physicians, employees, patients, and external partners.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate is a highly credible physician leader who combines strong clinical judgment with a practical, business-minded approach.
