Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this pivotal executive role provides strategic and professional medical leadership across a growing public health service committed to delivering contemporary rural and regional healthcare.With more than 1,200 employees, 172 beds, and a comprehensive range of acute, mental health, community, rehabilitation, maternity, emergency, intensive care, oncology and specialist services, MBPH serves as the major healthcare provider for North West Victoria.The OpportunityAs the organisation's most senior medical leader, you will drive excellence in medical professional governance, clinical standards, workforce strategy, education and training, research, innovation, and quality and safety. You will work closely with the CEO, Executive team, Board, clinicians, universities, specialist colleges and regional healthcare partners to shape the future of healthcare delivery across the region.This is an opportunity to influence healthcare at a system level while making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes, workforce sustainability and service innovation in one of Victoria's most important regional health services.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide executive leadership for medical professional governance, credentialing and clinical standards.Lead medical workforce strategy, planning, succession and sustainable workforce models.Drive excellence in clinical governance, patient safety, quality improvement and medicolegal leadership.Oversee medical education, training, research, clinical trials and innovation initiatives.Provide strategic advice to the CEO and Board on clinical performance, workforce challenges and emerging healthcare issues.Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.About YouYou are a highly respected medical professional with significant executive or senior medical leadership experience within a complex healthcare environment.
