What You’ll Do
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) provides executive‑level clinical leadership and strategic vision for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Easterseals New Jersey’s whole‑person care model. This role is responsible for advancing access to primary medical care, integrating physical health services and embedding innovation across clinical programs to improve outcomes for consumers and staff. The CMO serves as the organization’s senior medical authority, ensuring high‑quality, compliant, and equitable care delivery while driving innovative approaches to care coordination, prevention, wellness, population health, and workforce well‑being.Key responsibilities include:Lead the design, implementation, and evolution of an integrated whole‑person care model addressing physical health, behavioral health, developmental needs, and social determinants of health.Expand access to on‑site and community‑based primary medical care visits for consumers and ENJ Staff, including preventive care, chronic disease management, and health screenings.Establish and promote integrated care pathways and systems that support coordinated transitions of care across internal services and external providers.Serve as the organization’s senior medical authority, providing oversight of all medical and clinical services.Ensure medical practices comply with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and evidence‑based care guidelines.Identify, pilot, and scale innovative care delivery models, including integrated clinics, telehealth, mobile services, and interdisciplinary teams.Leverage technology (EHRs, data analytics, population health tools) to improve clinical outcomes and care coordination.Oversee clinical quality management, utilization review, and outcomes measurement across programs.Develop dashboards and indicators to monitor health outcomes, access, equity, and patient experience.Ensure alignment with value‑based care, managed care, and payer quality requirements.Drive continuous improvement focused on safety, effectiveness, and consumer‑centered care.Champion initiatives that promote staff wellness, preventive care, and access to medical services.Who You Are:Must be an actively licensed physician in New Jersey with an MD or DO degree; psychiatry experience or specialization is preferred.10+ years of progressive senior leadership experience within behavioral health, mental health, healthcare, or human services settings.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively engage diverse stakeholders.Excellent project management, strategic planning, and organizational skills.Demonstrated experience overseeing program operations, budgets, and fiscal management.
