Hospital: Sierra Vista HospitalLocation: Truth or Consequences, New MexicoSalary: $126,000- $210,000Sign-on: $10,000Relocation: up to $10,000Employment: Full-time, permanent, direct hireE-Health Jobs is conducting a retained search for an experienced Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to join a Critical Access Hospital, Sierra Vista Hospital in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.This is an opportunity for an experienced CNO to join a hospital that has already begun a significant nursing transformation. The hospital has an interim CNO in place, has recently hired new Med/Surg and Emergency Department managers, has a strong Quality Director, and has begun implementing an organizational action plan.The permanent CNO will continue that work, strengthen nursing operations and leadership, build accountability, and ensure improvements are sustained throughout the organization.What the Hospital Is Looking For:Current or recent Critical Access Hospital CNO experience is required.The hospital is particularly interested in CNOs with experience in:Leading organizational change and nursing transformationCreating a culture of accountability and sustaining improvementsCMS regulatory compliance and survey readinessCritical Access Hospital operations and CMS Conditions of ParticipationQuality improvement and patient safetyDeveloping, mentoring, and retaining nursing leadersSuccession planning and talent developmentWorking effectively with physicians and other medical staffNursing operations, staffing and workforce managementBudgeting and financial managementPosition ScopeThe CNO reports directly to the CEO and serves as the hospital's senior nursing executive. The position oversees nursing and patient care operations, including Emergency and Med/Surg services, with approximately 40 FTEs.Responsibilities include:Provide strategic and operational leadership for nursing and patient care servicesLead nursing quality improvement and patient safety initiativesMaintain compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation and applicable state and federal regulationsMaintain readiness for regulatory surveys and accreditation reviewsOversee nursing staffing, recruitment, retention, and workforce developmentDevelop nursing leaders and establish succession plansMonitor nursing productivity, staffing and workforce utilizationDevelop and manage departmental budgetsWork collaboratively with medical staff, department leaders and executive leadershipRepresent nursing in leadership, Medical Staff and Board meetingsQualificationsCurrent or recent Chief Nursing Officer experience requiredMinimum 5 years of CAH CNO experience requiredMaster's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferredStrong knowledge of CMS requirements, quality, patient safety, and regulatory complianceNursing leadership certification such as NE-BC or NEA-BC is a plusIf you are a current or recent CNO with a strong background in nursing transformation, accountability, CMS compliance, and hospital operations, we would like to speak with you.Apply with your current resume for confidential consideration.
