Additional services include sale and purchase of vessels, consultancy for ISM and ship finance, and ship registration support, making Nimbus Marine Group a full-service partner for ship owners and managers.Role Description The Chief Officer role at Nimbus Marine Group is a contract, on-site position based in Saudi Arabia, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel under the authority of the Master. The Chief Officer oversees deck crew, plans and supervises cargo operations, ballast operations, and deck maintenance, ensuring compliance with company policies, flag state requirements, and international maritime regulations. Daily tasks include managing navigational watch as required, updating safety and emergency procedures, coordinating drills, and maintaining safety and operational records. The role also involves close collaboration with engineering and shore-based teams, contributing to audits and inspections, and supporting continuous improvement in vessel performance and crew training.Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in deck operations, including cargo handling, ballast operations, and deck maintenance management.Strong knowledge of maritime safety standards, ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, and flag state regulations, with the ability to implement and monitor compliance on board.Proven leadership experience in supervising diverse crew teams, managing watchkeeping duties, and fostering a safety-focused, inclusive work environment.Solid navigation and seamanship skills, including voyage planning, use of electronic and traditional navigational instruments, and emergency response coordination.Relevant Chief Officer / First Mate certification and licenses meeting international and Saudi Arabian regulatory requirements.Experience in offshore, passenger, or construction vessels, or similar complex maritime operations is highly beneficial.Strong communication and reporting skills for interaction with the Master, shore management, port authorities, and external auditors.Ability to work in a multinational environment, adapt to changing operational demands, and maintain professionalism under challenging conditions.
