This contract, on-site role is based in Saudi Arabia, and involves overseeing crew transfers, and marine support operations for offshore oil and gas projects. Daily responsibilities include planning and executing voyages, monitoring vessel position and movements, ensuring compliance with marine regulations and company procedures, and maintaining navigational equipment and charts. The Chief Officer leads and supervises deck crew, manages safety drills and emergency preparedness, and ensures proper implementation of the vessel’s safety management system. The role also includes coordinating with clients and shore-based teams, preparing operational reports, and supporting routine inspections, maintenance, and bunkering operations.QualificationsStrong vessel navigation and seamanship skills, including watchkeeping, passage planning, and use of navigational equipment and charts.Proficiency in crew management and leadership, including supervision of deck crew, task allocation, and fostering a safety-focused work culture.Sound understanding of marine safety, emergency procedures, and compliance with international and local maritime regulations and company SMS.Experience in offshore support operations, crew transfer activities, and coordination with oil and gas clients and marine authorities.Relevant maritime certifications (e.g., Chief Mate/Officer license appropriate for vessel size and flag, STCW-compliant training, valid Seaman’s Book).Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written, with the ability to interact effectively with multinational crews and clients.Demonstrated ability to work in challenging offshore environments, with strong situational awareness, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Previous experience on crew boats or similar offshore support vessels in the Gulf region is highly beneficial.
