Chief Operating Officer

Kitselas Development Corporation (KDC) is the economic arm of Kitselas First Nation, with corporate offices in Terrace, British Columbia. KDC is governed by a Board of Directors appointed by KFN Chief and Council and works to advance business, employment, partnership, and economic development opportunities that support Kitselas participation in the local and broader Northwest BC economy.About the Role:Reporting to the CEO, the COO will provide executive and operational leadership across KDC, its business units, operating departments, and group of companies. This role supports the development and implementation of strategies, policies, initiatives, and partnerships that strengthen organizational performance and create sustainable economic opportunities.Key Responsibilities:Support the CEO in developing and executing policies and strategies that create business, employment, and economic development opportunities for KitselasProvide strategic and operational leadership across KDC’s group of companies and departmentsParticipate in contract and agreement negotiations and oversee administration of contracts, leases, and related obligationsIdentify, evaluate, and pursue new business, investment, and partnership opportunitiesManage a property portfolio and support land use strategic discussionsOversee financial performance, budgets, and corporate governanceProvide leadership, mentorship, and performance management to direct reportsQualifications:Degree in business, leadership, management, commerce, economics, or related discipline — equivalent experience may be consideredMinimum 3 years in a senior leadership, operations, business development, or economic development roleExperience working with First Nations and Indigenous communitiesDemonstrated experience in strategic planning, financial oversight, contract and lease management, and business plan developmentStrong leadership, negotiation, analytical, and communication skillsValid BC Driver’s Licence; ability to travel as needed and pass a criminal record checkCompensation & Benefits:$90,000 – $130,000 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental and vision insurance, short and long-term disability, life insurance, registered pension plan with employer matching, and paid leave.How to Apply: Email your resume and cover letter to the attention of Darrin McCormack, CEO, at darrin@kitselasdevcorp.ca.
