Company Description TAMAMURI is a nonprofit reimagining a historic (former Orme School) 300-acre campus in Arizona’s high desert as a destination for learning, creativity, and connection to the natural world. Through immersive programs, retreats, residencies, research, and community engagement, TAMAMURI explores how food, ecology, land stewardship, practical skills, and the arts can deepen our understanding of the natural world and inform more sustainable ways of living. With more than 100 existing buildings, a market garden, 200-tree orchard, vineyard, and expansive open land, the campus itself serves as a place for learning, experimentation, and collaboration. Working closely with executive leadership, the COO will translate organizational priorities into effective operations, anticipate risks and opportunities, and build the infrastructure needed as TAMAMURI’s campus, team, and programming grow. This is both a strategic and hands-on role, with an unusual opportunity to help shape the culture, systems, and operating model of a new organization from its earliest stages.QualificationsDemonstrated expertise in Operations Management and organizational process improvement.Strong Business Planning skills, including strategic planning and implementation.Solid Finance and Budgeting capabilities, with experience managing organizational financials.Advanced Analytical Skills for data-driven decision-making and performance tracking.Proven leadership and people management experience, including coaching and team development.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across diverse functions.Strong judgment, discretion, integrity, and financial stewardship.Experience in education, nonprofit, or sustainability-focused organizations is highly beneficial.Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.Enthusiasm for building an organization during an early and evolving stage.
